After 48K miles on my original Goodyear tires, They would not pass inspection. I did extensive research to find new tires. Being on a fixed income, price was a big factor. I have 205/70R16 tires. 65 series tires were 50% cheaper but not practicle. I decided on Kanda Kenetica KR217. They have an agressive tread and are quiet, smooth running, well capable of handling the highway, and have great reviews. When weather permits we'll see how they handle that. So far I highly recomend these tires.

I share your opinion of Goodyear tires. Few seem to last very long and the GY Wranger RTSs I put on my old Wrangler delivered outrageously poor traction. Why Jeep would ever have used them as OEM on a Wrangler is beyond me. Maybe it was the name -- Wranglers on a Wrangler? It certainly wasn't the tire. Who cares how long they might have lasted? I got rid of them as soon as I realized how bad they were. My Wife usually drove the Wrangler and complained about them; Her brother drove it once and didn't like them, either. Soon after when snow was predicted I asked my Wife to trade vehicles where I'd parked at the bus station, so when I came back from Boston late that night I'd have the Wrangler for the snow (instead of my Pontiac that I was normally driving at the time). My 15 mile ride home was a white-knuckle trip! I would have preferred the Pontiac (with Michelin Harmonies). I promptly replaced the RTSs with General RT43s and have pretty much stayed with General ever since.

Curiously, maybe the best snow tires I've had were the Dunlop Grandtreks that I bought from another member on this site -- I only wanted the wheels, but the tires came mounted and the whole package was a bargain price. The Grandtreks lasted several season and delivered outstanding snow traction. IIRC, Dunlop is owned by Goodyear. I would expect the parent company to put their own name on the better tires.

Thanks for sharing. I never heard of this company. Based in Taiwan with world distribution. I can live with that. This tire falls a tad short on winter snow performance according to their sales sheet. Otherwise, it seems to be a good budget tire. Keep us posted! Thank you.

I've got Cooper AT3's on mine with good results. If I was to install regular street tires, it'd probably be Michelin Defenders.
