Hello I just bought a 2016 patriot and was wondering how to use the 4wd I don't see a lever or switch or anything to put it in 4wd...is it in 4wd all the time or what..I'm going to be really bummed if it's 2wd

If it's 4x4 there's a silver switch lever (4WD lock) in the console by the cup holder and parking brake. If it's 2wd there's no switch lever.

You can also look under the vehicle and see if there's a drive shaft to the rear wheels and a rear differential.

It is fwd unless it thinks it needs 4wd or if you pull the handle, that is pretty typical of most awd systems.

If you have the switch lever in the console then you have 4wd which works like the video above.

If you don't have the switch lever, then you don't have 4x4, only 2WD/FWD.

Yep, another switch I may have to replace in order to get that 4wd! light to stay off after traveling over 1 mile. I did pop that 4wd lock out & one of the pins on the pcb is really corroded. Just a thought for $60...
