I’m seeking diagnostic assistance for a 2016 Jeep Patriot with engine issues. The car experienced sudden power loss while driving. I shut off the engine and the next time I tried starting the vehicle it got stuck cranking without fully starting. This was temporarily resolved by a computer reset by disconnecting and touching the battery terminals together. I was able to drive about 2 miles to a Jeep dealership mechanic. Error codes U0141 (Lost Communication with Body Control Module), U0155 (Lost Communication with Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module), and B2374 (Immobilizer Key Not Programmed - ECM/PCM) were retrieved. A dealer mechanic cleared the codes and test drove the car without any codes reappearing, but the issue persists. Any guidance on where to focus diagnostic efforts would be appreciated.

I've posted info from the service manual on two of those codes below, etc.

The common points are power and grounds (engine bay grounds g111 and g112), the CANbus connections, the TIPM and or TIPM configuration.

Hopefully the dealer tested the TIPM and checked it for proper configuration.

The engine bay grounds are a common source of electrical issues. The wires can corrode at the eyelet crimp and break. The fix is cutting the old eyelet off, stripping the wires back to good metal, and adding a new eyelet.

You could also inspect the TIPM connectors for corrosion on the pins and make sure they are properly seated (disconnect the battery first), and check the TIPM wiring harnesses for nicks or cuts, especially where it goes through the chassis.

Hope this helps.
