Hey guys, happy to be here to hear some advice. I am now a owner of a 2008 Black Jeep Patriot Limited. My issue is, it's too stock for me. :wow: I want it to look different, without just blacking out the whole thing. I was thinking of maybe plasti dipping the body white, leaving some the roof black with some black trim? What do you guys think? Maybe something like the file attached!

First of all, WELCOME!! Secondly, dipping a black jeep to white would def be interesting. I think someone here dipped their whole pat black, but to go white would be cool to see.:smiley_thumbs_up:

I don't see why not. Just make sure you clean the jeep real good before hand.. I would do sections at a time. Like the hood first and so on...

I deffently 2nd the doing it in pieces. Make sure you put like 5 coats and also remember plastk dip will peel and chip. Better the plasti dip then the cars paint though.

 

There's plenty of folks who plastidip their entire vehicles instead of painting, because plastidip can be just peeled off with no sanding. The two most common colors for the Patriot are black and white though, with silver a close third. Something to keep in mind if you want it to stand out. Something to keep in mind.

 

The picture you attached is a stock white one, the newer ones have the textured bumper covers and door claddings. If you're going to Plastidip most of the panels, I'd recommend getting the whole car kit from dipyourcar.com instead of messing around with rattle cans.

Word of advice: apply it thick. Even if you think it's enough, keep going. It will not peel if it isn't thick enough. I spent 4 hours removing it from my wheels with WD40 because I didn't put enough layers for it to peel.

Sounds not too fun. Why are you removing it? I've been thinking about dipping my wheels.

 

Okay sounds good.. And actually thats not a stock image its been photoshopped a little. I'll probably black out the rims, and most of the bottom of the car, to really contrast it. Should I leave the roof black?
