That being said,I will start.
As sales are going up and the interest is clearly there, why stop producing the most original Jeep -look vehicle in production.
The Pat is clearly the closest resemblance to the classic Jeep in production (speaking of it's class and not counting the Rubicon which is a definite off-roader IMO).
Everyone seems to love it for it's capabilities blended with excellent fuel consumption for a vehicle in it's class.
This should be a gold mine.
I just hope the right people see it that way.And maybe with a little FIAT engine technology things could get even better!
Let's hope for the best!

I have always found it funny that there has been "0" advertising for the Patriot - but I guess it sells itself.... considering there has been heavy advertising for the Compass and Partiot still outsells it by a large margine with no advertising.
There are 7-8 'Riots in our parking lot at work and 2 Compasses... so they sell fairly well around here... It is a great entry level Jeep - does a lot of things very well and performs well... just like to see little more oomph under the hood.
This is my 2nd one; however, probably my last one... it won't be paid off til 2015 and I doubt the 'Riot as we know it will be around then... onto a Wrangler Unlimited :)

the FIAT CEO is also Canadian... lol

So I think he knows how the culture works over here.

Yeah, I posted that link. As for saving the Patriot, how do I sign the petition? I agree, its an extremely common sense vehicle. What other UTE gets that kind of fuel economy? Patriot rides like a car, has decent interior space, will go anywhere you need it to, is wonderfully inexpensive to purchase and operate. Patriot has about the best balance all things considered. I've only got 68,000 miles on Ignatz, but I'd be in the market for another in about 3 years. And if gas prices keep going up, we may be trading Wifey's Wrangler for a Patriot sooner than that. If they drop the Patriot, they need to replace it with a vehicle that is as good in every cagetory (No Tradeoffs!) and somewhat better in several to make it worth while.

If I were Fiat/Chrysler I'd pump cheap money into advertising the Patriot until sales sag -- then, and only then, put the 'replacement' on the market. If they want to live dangerously, they could bring out the new thing and keep the Patriot: may the best vehicle win . . . I think I know what would happen.:D

I'm wondering what Fiat's going to replace it with? With the fuel economy buzz (due to the trips to $4 gas we've been seeing over the last few years) going on right now, they'd be idiots not to replace it with something. If I had to bet, I'd say that we'll see a Fiat crossover with Jeep style body work, and not that stupid looking Phoenix thing.

Maybe we'll just get the same Jeep with a Fiat driveline???

Well if they do cancel I'm keeping mine until the wheels fall off. It can tow what I need it to, fit what or who I need it to, it can go where I need it to, and it gets better gas mileage than my last car!

Its perfectly balanced, what would I be forced to replace it with? A CRV? No thank you, keep the patriot!

I'm keeping my Patriot no matter what! 20 years down the line , i still plan on driving this around (hopefully). For people like me (live in the suburbs, but enjoy the great outdoors, it's a perfect fit. Good fuel economy, off road ability, low entry price. I can only hope that Fiat see the usefullness of this vehicles, and decides to keep it in the line up. Its also much more rugged looking than the compass, and i don't see why Jeep keeps pushing commericals for the compass (aka mini-Grand Cherokee) and not the Patriot!?

Indeed! And re-reading my old post, I said I'd be in the market for another Patriot in about 3 years -- and we bought a 2014, virtually identical to my '08. If anyone from FCA is reading this, I'll be looking for another Patriot when my current ride dies (Ignatz is at 200,000 and still going strong!) but sooner or later the time will come . . . alas. I hope they're still making Patriots so I can buy another.

Right now the Patriot is a fantastic-selling vehicle. What we've seen of the proposed replacement isn't very impressive. The Cherokee and Renegade may be selling well, but they haven't touched Patriot sales; at last check Patriot sales were still improving.

My advice to FCA: Give the Patriot a face-lift and run it for a few more years.

The only change I've wanted on the Patriot has been to replace the rear liftgate with a split - dropdown tailgate, lift up window... well, THAT and a bare dashboard reminiscent of the 50's era Willys Wagon. So I guess that technically makes 2 things I've wanted. :)

Why don't you guys stop whining .... go start a petition or something to save the Pat :)

#24 ·
Guys, there is no indication that the Pat is cancelled YET. I saw a new compass type rig built. but nothing about the patriot. It sells to well to stop making I think. Its outselling the compass and the new renegade.

Look at new pat 2016 yesterday

Wow. 32700$. And not even the top line!
Sure some are 5000$ off. But not all

This is a lot of monney for a pat!

I can park my 2010 beside one,,,,and not trully a huge deference,

So if i want to trade my 2010. I would get mabe 6000 for mine and have to pay like 29000-35000$ over my trade,,,,,this is a lot of monney,,,for not mutch more then what i have already,,,,,,,,,,that is why i am not sure i would buy a new one,,,,,,i can put. Lot of fixing in mine for 30grand ....

For the exact price,,,,,even lower. A hnda crv or rav4',,,,,for anyone doing street and regual dirt road and snow,,its plenty good,,,and lets face it,,,more reliable!

I did look at the new renegade,,again cool little thing,,,but 33g. Plus tax and all it goes down to 40g$ wen finish,,mabe even more with interes,,,,,not worth it.

Those jeep should not go over 25g

But yes they should keep them on the car lot,,but bring down the price

Our altitiude edition was 21k. brand new. Canadian. The most expensive is 32,000 on the website with every option ticked....then take 5000.00 off ...that's an awesome price for what you are getting. Try getting a fully loaded rav, or CRV for that....then you still only have a tin can.

Actually, while a base Patriot would have the AM/FM/AUX/CD, I think it is still available without cruise, which is just as well. Teaches better driving.

#35 ·
No, no abs, traction control and the sort teaches good driving. Cruise gets you places longer away with les fatigue.

Yes, I know. That does not change the facts of what I said.
