Emergency brake

has anybody tightened their e brake? did a google and forum search and i couldnt find anything.

I did! it took about 30 minutes to do it most of the time was getting the center consel out and back in. At the end of the parking brake cable there is threaded rod and their is a nut that you tighten to adjust the tension of the cable. I think Jeep has to realize that the cables have to be shorter, because when I took the consel out and looked at it for the first time the nut was almost at the end of the threads. Meaning that the adjusting nuts stock position is almost the tightest it can be. Luckily I was able to tiighten the nut a couple more turns to where I wanted my brake to grab, but now the nut is at the end of the threads, if it loosens up again their is no more retightening I'm stuck. They should have made the cable shorter!!!:mad:

If you have the rear drums, it could be the rear shoes need to be adjusted tighter too. For the Rear disc setup (drum in hat style rotor), there should also be a shoe pad adjustment in the rear, but you may need to remove the rear caliper and rotor to get too it.
