Does anyone know if I can install the mopar kit on a trail rated 07 pat with DRLs? I read that it can be done but it wasn't confirmed by anyone that actually has that kit installed

 

You can install Mopar kit but you need to make sure you have the right wiring harness. It should say if it's suitable with DRLs.

The DRLs on the FDII are full intensity low beams. I've been debating whether or not to just go ahead and use the older wiring, but the newer one seems a lot less complex, and since the 2011 doesn't have the lights listed as an accessory, I was wanting to keep things straight forward

 

I think I'm all set on Warn W650F fog lights. I was debating for a long time between fogs and driving lights and decided to go with fogs for several reasons: street legal, more foggy/rainy conditions in my area + Bay area. I'll post a few pics around Christmas once both the bull bar and lights are installed.

I'm looking to mount driving lights on my Jeep Patriot, but as it's a company vehicle I don't want to drill any holes to mount them. Can anyone recommend a non-pen clamp on type mount that I can either clamp to the roof rack, front grill, or hood?

Also used the same wiring harness that came with them, only I did not use was the mounting brackets because of the different export vs US front bumper

they look nice and provide good illumination (I've used them on zero-light desert tracks and they do help a lot)

Thanks, mrJ. Rudolph...huh? I haven't aimed them yet nor tested in the foggy conditions as it has been a weird fall/winter so far...no rain/no snow (in the mountains). Not sure how high/low I should aim them. Any advice?

 

If they are fog lights, I would aim them with the same or less distance than the headlights. Also, measure how high the lights are off the ground. Next park about 25 feet back from a wall or garage door, turn on the lights, and make sure the lights don't shine on the wall higher than they are mounted... other wise you are blinding people

Sub-category (a) and (b) make it seem as though the vehicle can have up to 4 pairs of lamps on at any given time? Did I read that wrong? Where's an attorney...

The aiming instructions they give are pretty clear, that's very helpful!

 

Thanks, Afmcronnie. As far as 6 lamps on at the same time is true. I learned it a hard way a few years back when I had my GC.

 

I have a couple questions. a.) has anybody wired up driving lights WITHOUT using the mopar harness and if so would you happen to have a wiring diagram or something of the sorts and b.) where can you get a pushbar like the one that is on the green jeep?

 

Counter question for you: do you have Mopar driving lights or other brand? I wired both of my sets of fog lights without the Mopar harness. The bull bar is Black Horse and you can get it either through Ebay or CARiD. If you go through CARiD, use coupon code "FORUMS" to get 10% off.

 

I have not purchased lights yet because I did not know if the mopar harness was the best way and not sure which lights I'm going to buy yet because of all the choices. I would prefer to go the route of not using the mopar brand. Thanks for the info on the bar...I'll check it out.

 

I went the cheaper route and bought Pilot fog lights that fit right into the bumper where OEM ones would have been. Total cost around $30 + a few hours around the Jeep to install. I have a separate thread on the install too if you're interested. Another member just installed the same set based on my experience.

 

If you could post the link that would be great. Did you get the 2 1/2" or 2" bull bar?

 

Pilot Fog Light Kit. As far as bull bar, I got 2.5" black w/ skid plate.
