I want to start a thread for the driving lights people have had experience with on the Patriot. Please post a brand, part numbers, prices, wiring setup, pics and a link you got them from. Hope it will make it easier for others to make a choice when choosing the driving lights for the Pat.

On the side note, I'm looking for an inexpensive set of driving lights myself to install on the Black Horse bull bar so I don't need the brackets. I had an idea that I need your feedback on. When installing my Pilot fog lights I noticed my Pat was pre-wired for the fogs but I didn't use those connectors. Instead, I wired them to the cabin directly to the switch they came with. So my question is can I use the Mopar wiring kit for the fogs and the stalk to connect my future driving lights? Does anyone see any issues with such setup? Is it too costly? I haven't decided on the driving lights but I don't want to put another separate switch unless it's not avoidable. I really like the following setup which is wireless and a little pricey for me at this point.

Duece's setup: Warn W650D $224.26

The DRLs on the FDII are full intensity low beams. I've been debating whether or not to just go ahead and use the older wiring, but the newer one seems a lot less complex, and since the 2011 doesn't have the lights listed as an accessory, I was wanting to keep things straight forward

I think I'm all set on Warn W650F fog lights. I was debating for a long time between fogs and driving lights and decided to go with fogs for several reasons: street legal, more foggy/rainy conditions in my area + Bay area. I'll post a few pics around Christmas once both the bull bar and lights are installed.

I installed the mopar driving lights, bought them on eBay following the directions of this thread:

Also used the same wiring harness that came with them, only I did not use was the mounting brackets because of the different export vs US front bumper

they look nice and provide good illumination (I've used them on zero-light desert tracks and they do help a lot)

If they are fog lights, I would aim them with the same or less distance than the headlights. Also, measure how high the lights are off the ground. Next park about 25 feet back from a wall or garage door, turn on the lights, and make sure the lights don't shine on the wall higher than they are mounted... other wise you are blinding people

Sub-category (a) and (b) make it seem as though the vehicle can have up to 4 pairs of lamps on at any given time? Did I read that wrong? Where's an attorney...

The aiming instructions they give are pretty clear, that's very helpful!

Counter question for you: do you have Mopar driving lights or other brand? I wired both of my sets of fog lights without the Mopar harness. The bull bar is Black Horse and you can get it either through Ebay or CARiD. If you go through CARiD, use coupon code "FORUMS" to get 10% off.

I went the cheaper route and bought Pilot fog lights that fit right into the bumper where OEM ones would have been. Total cost around $30 + a few hours around the Jeep to install. I have a separate thread on the install too if you're interested. Another member just installed the same set based on my experience.

MODERATORS - is there any way we can possibly make this a STICKY?

It would be great to have ONE place to look for inspiration/knowledge/pics of this mod...rather than searching for it every time.

And for everyone else who has installed Auxilliary lights.....whether it be on your roof rack or on the front bumper....please post up your experiences/pics.
