@jeepcares : it is a cool little thing....

How do you make them? Did y'all see my thread on the PCM? From an 09 working with the 11?

I must say, I kinda wish I didn't do the reset... I had more punch before I did the reset. Maybe it will come back? It wouldn't have reverted to the old settings before the flash would it?

Now you have to use the inherent revs that a four banger needs for "punch".
The reset gives you a more car like setup so if you want punch use the auto stick and don't be afraid to rev it up...this motor produces its power at almost redline.

If you just use throttle there is lag and if you are driving spirited you don't want lag, so shift. Keep the revs up and you will be surprised at how peppy it is.

It's one of my favorites.

I ought to just make my own thread by now... thanks for the compliments! I spent a few hours on it a couple years ago. I made the background and Jeep in MS Paint, and used GIMP to rotate the Jeep, then saved all the slides as a .GIF.

As far as your CVT update, I think its cool you got it done. I think it probably just takes some getting used to, and I bet once you get used to the change you'll enjoy it. There had to be reason for an update!

Just wanted to say thanks! A little auto stick revving around town for about one or two days and now she's back with a kick and better gas mileage woo hoo!!!

That is your fuel map molding itself to your style.

If you drove my Patriot and were unfamiliar with the fuel map/CVT stuff you would think there is a flat spot at 2,000 RPM and that the unit was gutless.

Not true, it just reflects my low rev, fuel economy, normal driving style.

But when I put my foot into it and I do at times, I really have to put my foot into it to wake up the "system". Do that and its a very quick, very surprisingly peppy unit.

I know from past use if I was always putting my foot into it, it would start driving like that all the time, quick to rev, etc.

But for me, using a merge lane onto the Highway, half throttle or even a bit more just gets me a slow climb to maybe 2,500 RPM at which point I'm doing 100 kph and it settles to the 1,900/2,000 I cruise home at.

Shiiiiiiiiit. Mine is almost always 2500-3500. Hell the "power peek" is at 4500!!

Ya but...I'm getting 31 mpg.
Converted to US gallons that is in and around 25 mpg on 50% stop and go city type stuff and 20% gnarly industrial roads, gravel and blast rock and up and down and the remaining 30% highway.

I'm spending in and around $200 a month less on fuel than I was with the V6 XL7 doing the exact same thing.

Won't say what ur doing is right or wrong. I was throwing out that I have a lead foot. Aggressive driving behavior. This vehicle is a major step down in performance from what I'm use to. The plus side is better fuel economy even if it's less than par for this rig. And since it can't do 0-60 in numbers considers spreading by rapid acceleration (lol) I get far less attention from the law.
Damn I hate growing up. LoL
