It was supposed to be a completely stand alone console, so I'd still have my intact stock one and a aluminum one. I opted for aluminum because the guy worked for a custom sign shop that only deals in aluminum and custom lexan products so it was his forte, and had all their cutting equipment to make perfect milled console with crazy ideas and all.

But yeah.

Didn't happen.

So I may try and work on a fiberglass one but I haven't worked with fiberglass in 3 or 4 years and my idea may be a little crazy to fiberglass not having much experience.

Anyone who wasn't aware, one of my external air lines got shredded on Wednesday driving 60-70mph down the interstate which was a terrible experience.

Got that squared away with a "repair kit" I had just incase something like this happened. Ordered another set of fittings, lines, and a spare leaderline for piece of mind.

Yesterday, the other side decided to be like the right side and shred.

GREAT.
My replacement repair kit doesn't come in until Monday, and I have a 500 mile drive planned for tomorrow.

Uhhh..

And I work until after 6, and no local shops carry what I need.

Poop.

Wow!!! Just caught up with this thread...I'm guessing you're referring to leader lines as the lines going into your bags at the strut? I looked at a few of the air struts the other day and thought it was obscenely odd that the manufacturer would put an air inlet on the BOTTOM side of the airbag...you know, the side of the airbag that causes the air line to do the MOST amount of flexing, eventually breaking it in a very short time...unless I'm looking at it wrong, but it definitely sounds like that is the case. It sounds like you have a lot a line exposed to a bunch of rotating and moving parts, which is a BIG no no for air. If you have the ability, or capability, I would remove the airbag, flip it around, and drill out the body where the air inlet meets. This way, your air line stays stationary, out of range of moving parts, and there is a lot less worry when cruising down the road. If you want to send me some pictures, please feel free. I'll offer as much advice as I can.
One thing I like to do in my spare time is customize vehicles...not for profit, but as a hobby. I buy cheap vehicles, do some wild stuff to them, and then turn around and sell them for another cheap vehicle. I bought this truck for $500, got it running right, bagged it out, and then sold it for a little bit more than what I paid for everything. I had 2500# bags in the front, and 2600# bags in the back, but then switched the front to 2600# to get more lift. I was able to scrape frame whenever I wanted, and through trial and error, much like yourself, I figured stuff out. I'm rooting for your efforts in your build, and I'm always willing to share my horror stories with you to ensure you don't have the same outcome.

And as far as the console, damn! If I were closer, I'd come help you out and getting one fabbed up...just, damn...

Literally read through the entire thing because boredom can get to me. Definitely going to slam mine when I have enough to do it. Your build has been pure inspiration for what I want to do to mine.

Well just a little update, the system still isn't dialed in. I'm having some problems such as clunking in the rear when airring down, lines getting unmounted and shredded by the tires, leaks, and some "tapping" while driving.

Luckily I got up on a drive on lift Friday with a technician and had him do a full walk through of my system with me. Turns out my rear bags are rubbing, and if I don't do something tonight they may tear and I'll need 2 new bags. It's getting pinched between the frame rail, and the control arm that the hub mounts onto. The bags are wider than the stock suspension so it's an issue. We are going to attempt to shave the frame rail to allow some more travel room and shave the part of the arm where I'm getting caught up.

My bags still need to get threaded up more on the coilover as it's a little low which I believe is causing the tapping because it's not 100% secured and while the rear suspension is off I'm going to adjust the dampening because it's really soft in the rear right now.

I've put about 2000 miles on the setup and am still on the fence if it's worth it.

I'm not sure. Most cases I plan on giving them more than requested just out of generosity for "sticking their head out". I had a $150 bonus for the console, and he wouldn't even finish it. The fabricator making my plates I had the donor items, the money for the actual project, materials, and $200 bonus and he started playing hide and seek.

I've had terrible luck with those recommended to me for their high quality work, and those I thought were quality friends who had the skills I needed and they also bailed.

Can't win, I just want cool parts.

Creation, what kind of parts are you wanting? I know you got duped on the console, but what other things were you looking at doing?

...because someones brother (wink wink) is an awesome aluminum welder, and if you're throwing out some serious cash for some serious mods, and don't mind shipping the parts and a complete spec sheet on what you want done, my brother can do it, I can ship it back to you, and THEN you pay, so you know you're getting the job done.

I'll ask my brother if he would be willing to do this, but I don't think he'd have a problem, because if he makes money, the mod is already done by the time you finish the sentence.

My brother builds 18-wheeler proof aluminum gates for governments and corporations around the world, and used to work for one of the US's top Dodge upfitters. His welds hold...and well!

Here is some of the stuff he builds. The third video is my favorite: :)

The past 10 days in a nutshell of the Jeep.

-Headlight amber rings fried.
-Turn signals burnt out (requires disassembling the entire headlight to replace)
-4th Strut blew up.
-Passenger Airline shredded driving down the interstate dumped the car on the ground.
-Drive side airline torn driving in town.
-Speeding Ticket
-In-dash Tablet broke
-Found out bags are rubbing my frame and partially tore both rear bags.
-Front Tires are shot, need new ones.
-Rear Tires chopped, need new ones.
-Sectioned part of my frame/control arms to clear bags.
-Rear coilovers destroyed (yesterdays post).
-Got in the Jeep this morning and a quart of water dumped on me from the dome light (roof is leaking).

Bring it on life, show me how you really feel.

So just as an update, we made it to Georgia flawlessly, friday night was awesome. I had a patriot owner drive a decent distance to meet me and she was in love with the patriot and was so excited I let her come see it before the show. Saturday's show was RIDICULOUS. Import Alliance did a fantastic job hosting the event both days, and my bag setup had a melt down at the after party. Saturday, James (another patriot owner on here who just lowered his patriot) drove about 8 hours to see the patriot in person and attend the second day of the event with me.

Luckily, they opened up the garage and pulled me in and let me tear it apart. It turns out that the dump setup loop I have currently have freaked out and got stuck open causing the system to air down the moment I aired up. We ended up just temporarily just "deleting" the loop by plugging both exhaust ports which wasn't ideal because I couldn't air down easily but it got us home safely which was the goal.

This afternoon I'm going to tear down the system and hopefully find what was causing the issue and get a fix going on.

This setup is a nightmare.

Was able to park in the showcase lot, and everyone absolutely loved the patriot.

The garage picture, we had about 30 people watching us fix this, and a good 5 people actually helping.
