Spark plugs? Fuel pump/filter?

 

Any chance the red security LED is on?

 

No lights on the dash at all. I tried the cycle key 3 times trick and received “done” and nothing else.

This sounds like you aren't getting spark. Have you checked your spark plugs?

 

Spark plugs just changed less than 6 months ago.

 

If you think it's the fuel pump, try leaving the ignition on and thumping the bottom of the fuel tank with your hand or a rubber mallet, maybe that will get it going.

Other than that, you could try resetting the system by disconnecting the battery cables, touching them together and leaving them for 10 mins or so then reconnect and try.

 

Had the exact same issue with a different vehicle CJay.. it was the crank position sensor. Cranked fine, just refused to start.

Inexpensive sensor, but on that vehicle it was a pain to replace.

 

I had the same problem on my 2015. It was the auto start relay. It had to be replaced and all was well. Mine would crank great but would not start same as yours. Hope this helps.

Almost sounds like a crank or cam sensor. I just replaced them on mine, but mine would start, just not stay running very well.

 

One mechanic in the Google searches stated his battery had an internal short/bad cell, allowing the engine to crank, but not enough to start the engine. Diagnostics is difficult (for me) to not to put on blinders and I end up neglecting some possibilities because I set my mind on preconceived symptoms/solutions.

Sometimes a scanner with live data will help diagnose no CEL issues. EDIT: Even sub- $100 scanners (non bi-directional) can provide live data. I'm not sure at what point one needs a scanner that collects mfg. specific codes (Tranny, engine, ABS, SRS, etc.) - still available sub $100.
