Clutch adjustment

Hi folks,

I have a 2009 manual transmission and I experience hard shifting in the 1st gear. I tried all sort of things: lubricate the cables, change the transmission oil, bleed the clutch circuit, the problem is still there.

I want to tight a bit the clutch pedal in order to put more pressure on the clutch. Just a little bit, I know the pedal has to keep a certain loose. Do you know if there is a bolt somewhere for the clutch pedal adjustment ? A picture would be highly appreciated.

Thanks all.

Yeah, I know these cables. They are linked to the transmission by a sort of ball joint. Mine seem pretty looose and while they might normally be designed to have some play, too much can make the shifting imprecise.

The problem is that everything seems to be encapsulated, I see no bolt or adjustment possible. I tried to force the ball joint out, but I'm afraid to break anything.

Any suggestions ? Much appreciated.

It might be the pressure plate, mopardownunder. However, before proceeding to such an expensive repair, I want to rule out other possible causes, easier to fix. The shifting cables are among them.

I made a quick search and found that these cables are connected to the gearbox by a sort of plastic bushings. In my case, the cables feel pretty loose, so the bushings might be worn out. I will change them and keep you informed.

In your case, before changing the pressure plate I would definetely try to change the transmission oil and bleed the clutch circuit. It's easy and can be done in your driveway, especially in your place where the weather is fine all year round.:notworthy:
