Not technically a Patriot question but...

I have noticed when running my air conditioning in my 2012 Compass (4x2 2.4L engine) my CVT transmission seems to have trouble finding the right ratio. For example, when accelerating from a stop the CVT seems hunt for the right "gear" making the vehicle feel like it is jerking. All I have to do to correct it is push the shift lever left and it goes to a lower gear and off we go. Is this a CVT quirk? I'm not sure if our 2013 Patriot does this because I rarely drive it. This only happens when running the air conditioning but it does not happen every time.

My 2012 FDI Patriot does the same thing. It also does it if I go from reverse to drive and step on the gas real quickly.

my 2008 and my 2011 don't do that. Then again I don't have the auto stick -/+ feature on mine. Sounds like a warranty issue

I'd try the negative battery cable re-set procedure myself.

I don't know if its air con related or not but my Patriot will sometimes stumble away from a stop...most often a 4 way stop that I'm turning on and the road goes uphill.
I more or less idle along when I'm doing in town stops so the fuel map sometimes won't allow things to rev up unless I really ask it to go.

Re-setting the thing back to factory and building a new map seems to clear things up.

Can't hurt...

Mine does the same thing! Fuel injector cleaner and resetting the computer seem to help it.....it always comes back. The variable seems to be frequency in which it happens.
