Around 90,000 miles I heard a whirring/rumble noise from somewhere towards the back of my Jeep. Thinking it was a bearing issue, I changed BOTH rear hub bearings driver and passenger side. Still no reduction in noise level. As rpm, vehicle speed increase so does noise level, sometimes the noise will vary/oscillate as if the bearing load was increasing decreasing!
A passenger friend riding with me said, "You have bearing problems!" I replied, "Are there other bearings back there besides the hub bearings (out side of the rear differential) ?"
I said I had changed both hub bearings what else could it be? A bent wheel? Oh and gas mileage is suffering somewhat as well. Not serious but enough to realize I'm getting the MPG i was getting.
Any thoughts/input?
Is there any known problems with the rear drivetrain at this mileage?
What is the "drivetrain warranty" for this 2015 Patriot. . . 100k by any odd chance? I'm at 99,000!
