Hi I am new to these forums and I have a question and would like to get your thoughts on what could be wrong with my patriot. I have noticed other posts talking about a similar thing but with an automatic transmission.
Here is what I know.
It’s a 2008 Jeep Patriot. Almost 60,000 miles and no lifetime warranty, since I bought the car used and that does not transfer as far as I know.
It is a 5 speed manual transmission with no prior problems and oil changed at the recommended times.
Everything seems fine until I hit 25 miles an hour and once I hit 25 miles an hour the car starts to make what I can only describe as a whining sound. This whining sound continues as I increase speed and even at 70 miles an hour the car is still whining. If I take my foot off the gas the sound goes away.
I don’t know what other details I can post but if you have a question go ahead and ask and I will answer it if that helps with a possible diagnostic.
My first thought is transmission but I am trying to get other ideas.
Thank You
