2015 Patriot Defective Motor Mounts

So I took my Patriot in for issues the other day and one of the issues was a bad vibration when stopped in drive. Turns out, both motor mounts need replacing. When I took the car in last year, I complained about the same thing and the service guy kinda brushed it off as "normal" for these cars. This time, it was much worse and they determined the mounts were bad... just waiting for the parts to come in so I can get them replaced. Have you guys had any similar experiences with your Patriots?

Just a follow up...

The dealer had the parts in but never called me (I guess the parts dept is supposed to do that). So I called the adviser and he said the parts had been in. Took it in Wed. morning, got it back Thurs. morning and the vibration/shaking is gone! I can enjoy driving again and not have to put it in neutral when I'm stoppered ;)

I bought my 2015 Patriot in 2018 with around 30k miles. It's always had this issue and I've just gotten used to putting it in neutral at stoplights. Some days the vibration is worse than others, but it's always there. Also when in park on an incline/decline. The dealer was lucky that I didn't notice this during the test drive because I would have never purchased the Patriot. I just deal with it rather than paying for a temporary repair. My understanding is that this manufacturing error is officially unacknowledged by Jeep and swept under the rug. The Jeep brand should be ashamed and they should take responsibility for selling so many Patriots with a serious manufacturing issue. I assume they won't admit it because there truly isn't a fix. It's a design flaw. I've tried so hard to love the Jeep brand but this will be the last Jeep that I own. I'd just like to see some accountability. I wonder how many folks have spent countless dollars on meaningless repairs that will only mask the issue temporarily. If you're out there in a Patriot that feels like you're riding your wife's favorite toy....just know that I feel your pain.

For the first few years after we bought our 2015 brand new, my wife would always complain how badly the engine vibrated at idle. After a few trips to the dealer, they kept telling her that's just the way 4 cylinders idle - rougher than a V6 or V8. At about 15K miles, she said it kept getting worse, and insisted they do something about it. Sure enough, the dealer admitted it appeared to be defective motor mounts, which they covered under warranty. Apparently, it is quite common. So much so that we had to wait a few months for parts on backorder, and that was way before the whole supply chain issues BS. New mounts did make an improvement. Have heard more people with 2015s complain than other years, but could affect others. From what the dealer described it is a PITA job to do.

I'm late to this party, but I need to join so others(and jeep) know this is a bigger issue than Jeep acts like it is.

I am the original/only owner of my 2015 Patriot, 4WD. I complained for YEARs about how rough it idled at stops in drive. Jeep mechanics insisted many things like: spark plugs, oil changes, type of oil, type of gas, and eventually just resorted to gas lighting me "it's normal", "it's supposed to be like that". I'm typically talked down to when it comes to issues with my Jeep. I fix as much as I can myself and I actually know quite a bit about my Jeep. It is not normal for any car to shake so bad it makes you feel like you're in a bad carnival ride.

3 weeks ago I went through hell with this car and as many of you know these cars tend to have problems that won't throw codes even though they should. Serpentine belt wore out and the whole dash was lit like a ******* Christmas tree. I had so many codes, finally, I thought my days of being shaken were going to be over. I replaced: spark plugs, ignition coils, air filter, serpentine belt, tensioner do-dad, and a couple other things. I've just recently done an oil change and fuel injector cleaner. It runs SO rough now it's insane, but everything else is amazing. No more mysterious misfires that mechanics insist are not happening (ignition coil, 1st cylinder, so easy). I've been doing the trick with neutral so I don't have panic attacks every time I have to drive.

Motor mounts need to be replaced badly and I don't have the equipment to do it myself and JEEP should have stuck to their contract and OWNED their mistake and just fixed the mounts while I was in warranty. I haven't even hit 100,000 miles yet and it's just wrong that this isn't covered when they KNOW they screwed up. I love my Jeep. It's like it was made for me. I shouldn't be responsible for other people's mistakes, especially financially. I have to save up money and pay some stranger to work on my baby and odds are they will break something or mess with something they aren't supposed to. It's estimated over $1,000 right now. I'm just so angry.

I purchased a 2015 Jeep Patriot Sport 4x4, 106,100 miles on 11/16/2022 and have these issues when stopped at a red light or any time my foot is on the brake and Jeep is in drive. I asked the used car manager prior to purchase and he said that these 4cyl idle rougher than a V6 and V8's. My daily driver was a V8 Dodge Ram so I am not use to a 4cyl. I am just reading this thread now and believe it may be the motor mounts as well. I have to bring the Pat in for the power steering clamp recall so I'll have them look at the vibration issue as well. I will update in a week or two.

Please let us know what the quote or final cost ends up being. It would really help me, and probably others, out. I can't afford to have the work done just yet, i've already sunk a ton of money into repairs. I can honestly say that I really enjoyed changing the ignition coils and spark plugs myself and I am not sad about how much that cost me, so not complaining about money spent just frustrated with the motor mounts.

I am having the same issue and was given the same spiel. I was suspect of the motor mounts but was told its a jeep- they drive a bit rougher. 2015 also 2.4 4wd automatic 6 speed. This really should be a recall, I have 135,000 on my jeep now and was told it was just the way they are so I didnt know any better. If JEEP did a recall on it -even now- they could most likely get away fairly easy as far as the year (all 2015) maybe even the transmission type and the monetary expenses would not be as bad. I dont have the money to replace defective mounts - on top of all the regular maintenance, many electrical hiccups etc. Not to mention the motor mounts are not supposed to just go bad and stay bad- it can cause some major issues when the engine has been bouncing around all willy nily. I'm already peeved about so many things- one of which being the catalytic converter ( manifold) recall that I really most definitely should bar none have been a part of! Same issues as the recall. same equipment- but I check all the time and my vin has nothing for it. Im quite sure that the time has passed or that they would have included my vin by now- but nothing. Being in an emissions state its been hell trying to get it to pass and I can honestly say that I will never have money for that fix. A converter is not in the cards for me - just praying she holds out a bit longer, and feel bad because if it it weren't for manufacturing defects- I'm quite sure that this baby could go many many more miles. Its just sad that its being made to be a throw away vehicle- when there are so many positives to them. They are little beasts in the snow, the 4wd system is just sick on them- no extra weight even needed for a little 4 banger, gas mileage is ok (would be sooo much better if weren't for cat performance) Most parts are easily accessible. I wanted a Jeep so bad and figured to start off with a more economical one ( my plan WAS to purchase a new Wrangler) but now even though I love it- those defectives ruin my whole experience. I do not want to spend a top mula on anything that will smack me in the face later like this Pat. I expect new cars to be new- and older ones to have a few issues every now and again - So to know that all of the trouble that I have had- could have been avoided? I took pride in my Jeep and was a huge advocate of them in my area-(4 wd necessary. So now I just feel so confused- like I had that pride in your vehicle, so why didnt you? Sorry its a long rant but I really do love Jeep and its a bummer.

Hey, @JeepersCreepers13 -- Welcome to the site! I feel your pain. My first Jeep ('74 Cherokee) was lovable, but I couldn't afford the repairs. I later got a '93 Cherokee and it's amazing I ever bought another Jeep after that bucket of bolts. :( My Wife kept buying Wranglers and when my Pontiac dealer dropped their franchise and went all Mopar I stuck with them. I'm glad I did. My '08 Patriot was so wonderful we bought a 2014 that we still have. The '08 blew the CVT twice but Jeep honored the warranty. The 2014 zipped past 100,000 miles on nothing more than brakes, and now just shy of 200,000 it's only needed a couple front-end parts. We had the first major repair (tranny) a few months ago. I'm hoping for 300,000. 🤞
