I have 2014 Jeep Patriot and a Galaxy SIII. It has Bluetooth, I can pair it with Uconnect in my Jeep Patriot. However, I cannot make calls to other people, only receive them. When calling, it dials maybe twice, then says "Call Complete." and the phone call continues through my phone.

I saw a similar thread from years ago that said the problem was with the phone/service (Verizon being one of them) but my brother has the exact same phone as I do. However, he has a 2016 Jeep Patriot so I would like to know if the problem is in my phone's software or my Uconnect software.

Hey Jerry,

I would do a quick check on (Uconnect compatibility website) Select your Vehicle just to check compatibility. It lets you put in the vehicle and very specific phone parameters to check the compatibility.

I actually did use that website before my initial post, and I did again to make sure. As far as I can tell, the only thing I can't use or access is text messages. It says calling people and receiving calls should be fine. But like I said, I can receive calls, answer, here them through my microphone and talk fine. However I cannot make calls; it rings twice, says "Phone call complete" and the call continues solely through my phone and I can't talk through the microphone.

Someone posted awhile back with this same issue but there wasn't a clear answer. I would like to know if this is a problem with my phone (Galaxy S3) or my 2014 Jeep Patriot Uconnect software

Check the UConnect site or ask dealer if there are any firmware / updates available.
Good Luck

I have a ZTE phone on Straight Talk and it works for me most of the time--few times it will cut off before I am finished, but seldom. Most of the time it accepts my voice input for my calls. My Straight Talk is on Verizon towers. In the past I have had to take the phone off and re-match it to my Uconnect and that solved the problem. I don't know if you have already done that several times or not--but it has solved my problems in the past and I am an old senior and it is all "fuzzy" to me-
