2010 5-Speed Patriot not budging until 3000-4000 RPMS

Odd thing. Patriot worked fine all day Saturday. This morning I went to start it, put it in reverse, and it rolled down the driveway. I put it into 1st gear, and the engine just revved up. Once I got to between 3000 and 4000 RPMs the car started moving forward slowly.

Has anyone encountered this issue before?

85,000 Miles, 2.0L FWD, I had an oil change and fluid check 3 weeks ago, and everything was topped off. No visible leaks or puddles in the driveway.

Ditto. Blown clutch.

I had a Cherokee with a bad clutch from new. It leaked internally dripping onto the clutch plates so it felt like I had a couple wheels on ice -- it would slip a little and then engage. At six months old and after four failed repair jobs (under warranty) I traded it. In retrospect a better dealer might have fixed it right and I would have kept it. I was a rep on the road and couldn't keep dropping by the shop, even if the work was free under warranty. If it wasn't running, I wasn't working = no $$$.
