Well, I'll get right to it. I traded my Pat yesterday. It was not an easy choice but it was the right choice for me given my circumstances.

There were several reasons, but none of them had to do with the Pat itself. I absolutely loved it, but with student loan payments and other obligations I found it was best to downsize my expenses. Again, totally loved the Pat but for my needs the Pat was a little too much vehicle and I was able to cut my payment in half.

For those of you that remember when I first joined up here, I was considering some other small affordable hatchbacks instead of the Pat. Well, the Honda dealer near me was running a special offering 140% of KBB trade in value. I was able to make quite a bit of cash on the trade itself which I then used as a DP on a new Fit, which was the runner up choice to the Pat in the first place.

Although Im sad to see it go, I certainly plan to get back into a Jeep at some point in the future! The Fit fits my needs a little better at the moment, and is much better on my wallet and the pump.

If anyone is looking for a low mileage awesome Pat Altitude Ed in the Seattle area, check it out at Klein Honda in Everett! I am sure they will be posting a for sale listing in the next couple days!

This also means I will be stepping down as a Mod, but I think there are some great people out there that can step in! But dont think im going anywhere any time soon haha...I still am Pro-pat and would love to help out other owners and keep up with everyone!

Happy New Year guys!

Noooo Brohio :'( I hate that we're losing a great mod! I'm glad you're going to stay active on the site though! I really hope you enjoy your new Honda :smiley_thumbs_up:

I think they get like 35-40mpg, but not sure. I move we make the4wdPatriot, TJL, or TJN the next mod. All three have great rigs and know how to treat a Patriot right. Sorry to see ya trade it, Brohio, I was looking forward to seeing your pics in POTM next....or should I say this, year.

There must be some kind of mod trade-in curse haha. Mileage on mine is 27/34...its a manual :D

Yeah im not a huge honda fan...hate my dad's accord haha. The Fit is the only one I would consider. Liking it so far! Great to be back in a 5spd.

Lol, it's still the best overall rig and you've proved it though. If I had a line on better parts, I'd try and help, but I'm afraid I'm still rather low in off-road standing.

Honda is doing .99% financing up here...on select models, don't know if the Fit is in that...

Anyway, I propose a new rule...any retiring mod has to banninate someone of his/her choice on the way out.

Just, you know, because.

I myself have been looking at JKUs lately as I want one before solid axles go away around MY2015 but financially it doesn't make sense for me right this moment.
the hard part is they don't loose value, and in some cases INCREASE in value (as people mod them) for a few years after they are bought. 5 year old wranglers still go for the high teens-mid 20's... (at least here in AZ)

It's the same in Tennessee...Wranglers are like gold when it comes to resale value.

Judas Iscariot. Benedict Arnold. Now Brohio. :( I hope Seattle gets 10 feet of snow this year!!!!! May it fall 6" at a time on days that you absolutely positively have to get somewhere.

Seriously, I wish you my best. Keep the rubber side down.

Wow! Shocker!....but I know how it is when the wallet is making the calls. Half-ing your payment is huge and will loosen things up in other areas for you....so that is a good thing.

The Fit was the "second favorite car" (behind Prius) where I last worked before my transfer. There were at least 8 in the parking lot at all times. The Fit is "hecho en Mexico" but no one ever complained about them regarding quality or reliability so that's a good thing. They just drove them and didn't hit the gas station very often.
Glad you're staying around!

They make them in Mexico now too? I know the next gen one is going to built there but the US 2013s ones at least are made in Japan still

Congrats on the new ride Brohio. There's nothing wrong with getting your money right and me thinks the Fit is a good looking little ride.

For those of you considering JKUs come on in the water is fine.

Yeah, they are expensive for what they are, but Jeep got it right with the >2012 JK.
