just curious on owners experience with the lifetime warranty,
know some have had cvt replaced without a problem,
like to hear peoples experience with it , good or bad

my pat is in the shop,
while it was there i asked the rep if the part was covered under lifetime warranty,
he said probably not, regardless he checked my info in the system and did not show my lifetime warranty,
he told me to call corporate to check on status
so called and they told me it was cancelled because i did not submit 5 yr inspection, told him when it was done and where and he said dealers dont submit the inspection to chrysler, i the owner have to submit it,
'he gave me a link to submit copy of inspection,
my original inspection receipt is in the pat which is in the shop,(different shop from where i had inspection done)
so i called inspection dealer asked for a copy,
he pulled it up and while talking confirmed what corporate said, he doesnt submit to corporate, i would have to do it, he also mentioned see's alot of customers who have had their lifetime warranties cancelled.
i forwarded copy of inspection to jeep corporate and cant get a status from them, just docs received and they are working on it, no time frame on when to expect a response,
while talking to dealer who is working on my pat, they have mentioned that it sometimes take corporate 6 months to reinstate cancelled warranties, and people have had to pay for the work done while warranty is expired.

has me curious on others experience on lifetime warranty

i would think that legally, corporate are doing it right (maybe even more than they should)

if the obligation is on you to return the 5 yr thing and you don't (for whatever reason) - then YOU invalidate the warranty

if corporate are good enough to reinstate the warranty then you should be no worse off once the warranty is back on track

just my 2c

maybe i missed the fine print but didnt see mention that i had to submit to corporate,
if others did so, i would be curious if its just me that didnt see it.

i just saw that inspection had to be done, which it was.

as for no worse off,
if you wait till you have a problem then you are without warranty until you correct suspended warranty and are responsible for repairs, there doesnt seem to be reimbursement for repairs paid for while warranty is being reinstated, which could take 6 months, i personally would not be able to wait 6 months to get the car fixed
if parts i am getting replaced were covered under my suspended warranty i would be out $1700 , paying for a warrantied item,
my part is throttle body and tcpm which is not covered so thats not an issue for me, but could be for others

No where does it say the consumer has to submit any inspection report. Just that it has to be done at a Chrysler branded dealer and within a certain time frame. Chrysler is going to catch holy legal hell if they continue to pursue this course of action once word spreads that they are doing it.

Yikes! I just had my 5 year inspection done and no one told me I had to submit anything to anywhere. That's a real dodgy sounding policy. Do you have the link for submitting?

it was a link specific to my case # that expired after 5 days
recommend others call jeep i called 877-iam-jeep, and at least check on the status,
or if your at a dealer ask them to look up your warranty info, thats how i found out.

That's some special BS right there. I just logged into my Jeep Owners link and it shows my last dealer inspection (engine, 23 point inspection, vehicle inspection(s)), but says nothing about it being the 5 year. Under the Jeep Protection link in my profile, it says no protection. I'm not sure though if it should say lifetime power train as it appears to be just extended warranty stuff.

The paper work from the dealer does say lifetime power train extended for an additional 5 years though.

Is this true also for the Maximum Care Lifetime extended warranty as well?? I just purchased my new '13 and got the Max Care Lifetime warranty as well...

I called Jeep...my dealer submitted it, like they were supposed to...About the only thing warranty-based my dealer has ever done right...

Told the Jeep person about people being told that they had to submit the reports themselves and I was told that was absolutely incorrect. The report is entered electronically and uploaded, like how you can see it in the owners site. The customer only has to send it in if you have a dealer that for some reason doesn't have the ability to actually upload service history.

Anyway, mine was done right, so I'm good for 5 more years....

I have MaxCare Lifetime....and they tried to upsell me for another warranty to extend that! I asked what gets better than Lifetime everything? The answer was that my free loaner runs out at 100,000 miles as does the trip interruption protection and some of that stuff. This was the MaxCare+ and would extend all of the stuff that expired at 100,000 miles to Lifetime as well...the cost??? only $1500!!! I passed...

I rent a car a whole lot for that much money....

I got the contract in the mail the other day for my MaxCare lifetime warranty. Nowhere in there doesn't say anything about me having to take it in before the five year anniversary Mark in order to keep the warranty valid. It sounds like this is just for those that have the factory lifetime powertrain warranty from Chrysler that was offered for a few years… And my correct?

I asked about this at my local dealer just to see and they send the reports in.

just got a call on my warranty,
even though dealer has record of my inspection,
i emailed corp copy of original inspection receipt,
they are telling me i have to have inspection done again by monday to reinstate the lifetime warranty.
tell me on friday i need inspection on monday?
what a royal PIA.

just got a call from rep again,
warranty is good in the system, dont need 2nd inspection now.
how they dont change their mind monday,
think from now on in, every time i am in a dealer for something will ask them to check the system for warranty info

My CVT went south at 4 years/110,000 miles. It was replaced no questions asked. Dealer gave me a loaner Chrysler 200 to use while the Patriot was out.

The only issue I had so far was that both my Lifetime and Max Care warranties were cancelled when I did not use my legal name when getting work done at the dealer. I used Fred not Frederick. I have to give kudos to my dealership (not the place in Cheyenne where I bought it though) because the guy recalled me getting the 5 year done so he called and got me re-instated (had to do it the next 2 times I was in too) but I have contacted Jeep and it appears to be fixed.

Insurance companies at their best! They really know how to turn a profit!
