Those are wonderful photos, we just need 5 or so more Patriots in them with you. Maybe next time.

Here's one from Yesterday.
Thanks, Dixie. We'll have to work on getting those other Patriot owners along on the next one. :)

BTW, that's quite a driveway you have there!

Some pics from Billings Lake trail, off US 50 west of Poncha Springs, Colorado.

Did you recently get Chrome inserts and mudflaps?

I've had the mudflaps awhile, and added the chrome door edging to the grill last summer. My sig photo has none of that, not even the hood shield and side window shades.

I guess I need a new sig photo eh?

Maybe I'll just wait for the 2011 model to change it up.

this blows!!!!

just made my first trip out in my patriot....it did pretty damn well. i really thought the hill descent was awesome. heres a few pix. it takes fooooorever to upload my videos to youtube, but ill post them when i do.

i cant believe it!!!! we had a blast offroading and everything went fine. we head back, drop off my brother in law then head home. on the freeway on the way to my house some small gravel from someone in front of me hits my windshield. ten minute later i have a six inch crack, i stop to get groceries, when i come out i now have probably a 10 inch crack!!!! ugg!!!!

everything i can find online says a long crack is not fixable, the windshield should be replaced. is that true? my insurance is saying 328 to replace the window. im not doing that through them, any suggestions?

That sucks, looks like it was a good time though. All I have heard and read, is that if the crack is 6" or less repair should be possible, 10" crack probably not repairable.

Hey you made it! How was it? How'd the pat do? you going to make it for Oh-My-God Road this weekend?
Yes, I did those trails two weeks ago. It was a lot of fun but i almost rolled the pat at one point. The pat did great, there was some parts that really tested it but overall it never slowed really. Whats this weekend?

Whats this weekend?

They added Russell Gulch Rd to the run since I posted this, and I don't know that trail. I was in the area on Saturday and it's mostly pretty timid. I don't know the Russell Gulch Rd. I did drive a road marked something like "Alps Road" which I think may have been Russell Gulch Rd. This Alps Road had a couple of spots that would be a small challenge for a FDI pat, also there was a snow bank I didn't try to go through since I was alone. However; we're expecting something like 15 rigs ranging from stock to who knows what. Plenty of people to help stack rocks or anything else you need. The trail leader knows the area better then I do so you could ask him at the start. You could show up, run OMG road with us, then skip out on Russell Gulch (or find an empty shotgun seat) if it sounds like something that might be risky to a Patriot.

I think I'll pass this weekend. I am going to fort collins to visit some friends and party a bit :p I am probably going to be doing some trail runs next weekend. I want to run dakan road again by castle rock and I need someone to go with since my grand cher friend has bailed on me the last two times. I really like the dakan trail, it was quite challenging for my pat. I am sure a fd2 would have some trouble too. The two trails I did was http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=201 which is rated up to a 6. I am not sure why I didn't see anything too crazy for that. But Dakan was fun and quite long, I actually ran out of time and didn't get to finish it. I am probably going to run both of them next weekend if you would like to go. http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=152

Cool pics!

If that's where I think it is, I got my Rubicon high centered playing on those rocks. In that last pic, are you standing on the road taking the picture? and there should be a way all the way through those rocks back down onto the road.

This looks like something straight out of a Jeep ad. :) (If Jeep bothered to make decent ads for the Patriot, that is.)
I thought the exact same thing. Excellent picture. Jeep should pay royalties and just use that picture
