I prefer debadging, to remove all marks. My Compass has only "Jeep" badge and "CRD" on the tail gate and it's obvious that it's a 4x4. They sell no 4x2 Jeeps in Europe ;).

Debadging allows you to be "a wolf in the sheep's skin".
For example the same Honda Civic, which really is a Type R, after debadging looks just like an ordinary Civic, but can bite like a Type R.

In this case, you try to be "a sheep in the wolf's skin". I see no point in it. But that's just my humble opinion :)

If you want to impress the gullible, it will work. However, a lie is still a lie. And you'll look real stupid up to your bumpers in snow with one wheel spinning. I dread the day when I get stuck with FWD and somebody notices I'm in a Jeep. Better get real good tires like I did, and no, I didn't add any untruths to my Patriot.

I won't put a trail rated badge on any Jeep that doesn't (IMO) preform as well as the factory trail rated. In other words, if I lifted my Jeep, put skid plates on, added a front tow point, I may consider putting on a trail rated badge, but I would still be missing the gearing and BLD, etc.

If I saw you with a Trail Rated Badge without tow hooks, I would laugh at you (there have been no trail rated Patriots without tow hooks). If I found out afterwards that it was FWD, I would have no problem mocking you.

All of that being said, I don't expect many girls to even notice the trail rated badge, and the ones that do notice it and like it, probably would pick up that it wasn't one, and may even tell you that you should have gotten a wrangler...

Not worth it. It is exactly the same as putting the sock in your pants, except in this case most girls aren't even looking below your waist (i.e. looking for a trail rated badge).

I was driving behind a Hyundai Tiburon the other day and it had a Supercharged badge on one side of the trunk, a Turbo badge on the other side and a NOS sticker in the middle (as well as a Limited badge, a Special Edition badge and a Dodge R/T Badge). The car had a serious identity crisis.
You think that's bad, I saw a Prius with a hood duct and fender vents with "flame" decals! LOL...though with recent events that is probably an electrical fire under the hood :p I have a picture on my cell phone somewhere and will post it soon.

Dude, why try to deceive people? The "hunnies" will think ******* or if they happen to be Jeepster's, they could tell by the height of your Patriot compared to 4x4 Pats and lack of a 4-LO lever. Then if the Carolinas get another taste of snow, you'll be putting all Patriots to shame while your FWD slides around all funny-like :D Save your money towards something more useful, like a 4x4 2011 Patriot :p

What is that?

The one thing all Patriots should have is the JeepPatriot.Com sticker.
I second that! LOL

...and if you're not liking other opinions, don't ask for them. If you want to do the 4xFaux, just do it- heck, be creative about it :pepper:

Well it may say Jeep!! but what you will end up with is a " Blinged " up Caliber wagon with Trail Rated badges!! Most Uncool Dude!!

my patriot is paid for.. 4xfaux or not..

It's your jeep, paint it pink with purple flowers on it if you want. Keep in mind howerver that more than likely the only people who you will impress are the same ones that will probably notice that it is a fwd.

it,s your,s do what you want with it..

we got the fwd because we could not find a new 4x4, as i see it it it is what it is..- and belive me the people that know jeeps will know at a glance..

but hey, again it is yours have fun with it and do what ya want..--:smiley_thumbs_up:

OR...you could get the badge, and if you are handy with a dremel, get a little "2" and replace the 2nd "4"? Mine is FWD. I wanted a 4WD, but the only one I could afford right now was this one. I am hoping it does well in the snow though. I traded in my AWD saab 9-2x aero (better suby impreza wagon) for it. I love it though! To each is own...

if u like it, do it. Is your Pat!! ;)

But please, don´t buy a viper powered srt10 badge!!! but if you like to put a badge like 4x4 or north ed. latitude etc and you like it, just do it ;)

You can always buy one of those "Mall Rated" badges and put that on there instead... I think you would get more chicks by being funny than by putting a trail rated badge on... and it wouldn't be false advertising :p

You could always get a bumper sticker that reads " My other car is a REAL 4x4"

All ribbing aside, I think you're better off without the badges. However, if you put them on, good for you. It's your ride, do what you like.

If you were looking for a majority vote, though, i think you found it.

Now, more importantly, give us an update on what's going in INSIDE your Jeep. That's far more interresting, judging by your screenname alone.
