probably what I will do. I don't want to mess with anything and from what I read, with the rro lift it's just installing it and you wont have to mess with anything else.
Well, to me, having to change the rear upper control arms and adding sway bar extensions is messing with something else.

That is why I choose the spring lift. In addition, having an higher center of gravity due to the lift, I really appreciate the firmer ride the springs provides.
 
changing that stuff is no big deal.

I dont like cutting frames up to mount lifts etc.
 
2008 jeep patriot- i have a basic jeep patriot my tire size are 205/65R16 and my buddy is givein my some brand new off road tires size 265/75R16..my question is how high would i have to lift for the tires not to rub i didnt put them on or actually looked to see if they would rub the jeep is at stock height but before i go to install them off the top of yall heads do yall think they will fit qithout a lift if not whats the best and biggest lift i can get to work on the jeep wothout cuttin or changeing major parts

There are two commercially available lift choices, RRO spacer lift and Stucoils. And no, they can't be used in combination for more lift.

Those are 31.7" tires; they won't "fit" without a lot of work i.e. lift, pinch weld mod, wheel spacers and/or negative offset rims, and you'll probably have to cut off the spring perch from the front struts.

And even after all that it may still rub on the inside of the wheel well at full lock / full strut compression.

Tires that big will also have a huge negative impact on performance and MPG, as well as more wear and tear on the drive line.

IMHO,what you'll get for all you're effort and $$$ won't be worth it. I'd sell or trade those tires for something smaller.
 
I know this thread is old but just to weigh in on the patriot lift questions. I’m in Australia and bought the Rocky rd outfitters lift kit and a set of raised King springs(specifically for the Patriot).
My Patriot is a 2008 model I’ve had since new. After the kit and springs were installed I had gained over 100mm or over 4” in lift. I took the measurements from the centre of the hub to the base of the wheel arch. Measuring from the ground to the base of the side rails is over 12 inches.
Had it all done professionally, wheel alignment was done and set to 100 percent factory.
The Patriot now handles better than new, no role at all, springs are very stiff. There is no movement when you apply body weight to the fenders to bounce the springs, if I pressed any harder I would just dent the fender.
Now I am looking for a set of 16” wheels to put some decent sized tyres on and hopefully get at least 1.5” more height.
Also my patriot is carrying a roof top tent which weighs approx 60kg/132.225 lb so without that the rear would be slightly higher.
Oh King springs in Australia are the guys who make the springs for Stu’s lift. I purchased my springs through MRT performance https://www.mrtperformance.com.au . All the best and good luck?
