Loud sound .being produced when I turn the fan on

When I turn the fan on any speed, I hear a loud obnoxious sound from under the hood. Remember when you would clip cards on to your bicycle tires. The sound reminds me of that. When I accelerate the engine you don't notice it, but at idle it is an embarrassing sound.

Any ideas????

Are you sure it's under the hood, or is it inside the cabin under the dash on the passenger side?

Sometimes debris, like a leaf, can get pulled into the HVAC cabin fan and make noise like that. It could also be a bad fan motor.

There's youtubes on how to take the fan motor assembly out.
