What To Do: 4X4 Limited (5-Speed Manual)

I’m trying to decide what I should do with my Patriot. It was a custom factory order to get the 2012 Limited 4X4 trim with all the options and the 5-speed manual transmission (this spec was non-existent on dealer lots).

It’s been an outstanding vehicle over the past 100,00 miles (160,000 km) that I’ve put on it. Very reliable and incredibly capable in deep snow, but trying to decide if I should keep it and modify into a dedicated off-road vehicle, or let it go to someone who will use it and appreciate it more.

Any suggestions how to weigh out the sentimental value vs financial value?

Now sure how off-road you are talking, but I would say let it go. Would be a great car for a highschool kid, keep their hands on the stick and off the phone.

Very true… actually same goes for most adults I see behind the wheel as well.

Nothing keeps you more connected to the vehicle than rowing gears.

Nothing’s new under the sun. A little over a half century ago, I was driving down a hilly, bumpy (but straight) road in SE PA, and the driver in the car coming toward me was reading a fully deployed newspaper…
