My 2010 limited is a great jeep!
But, the throttle control light comes on intermittently. Then goes off after some time
Usually sit for 5 to 10 minutes and when starting no light.
I have no idle or run issues. Just light coming off and on. Started yesterday. Mechanic suggested using a high quality fuel system cleaner as even a misfire could trigger this light.
Any other tips or directions to check?
Any info would be greatly appreciated as we are both disabled and fixed income. We've loved our jeep for many years. Now it seems she is living up to the addage....J ust. E mpty E very P ocket.
Please help.
Thank you!!!

I have owned 2 patriots, a 2011 and a 2017 which I still have.On my 2011 the throttle body light came on and off while my wife was driving her family around. The next day I drove it to work as normal on my 30 mile commute and after about 6 miles I pulled over as it was clear I wasn't going to make it. I am going to guess it had around 45,000 miles on it but that is an estimate. It was towed to the jeep dealer and they replaced it. It was fine after that and when I traded it in it had 88,000 miles on it so I do not know if it would have gone out again, i.e. how often they go out. I have 37,000 on my 2017 and it has not failed yet.

Quite a bit of info and experiences here on the forum with it.It is a common problem.

throttle light and check engine light came on shut engine off and restarted lights came back on 2016 jeep patriot. what do I do?
Get the codes read, see what the system thinks is going on.

If you don't have a code reader / scanner a local auto parts store might read the codes for you for no charge.
