I just read the codes the other week with Appcar DiagFCA and have the code showing up, "U0167 lost communication with intrusion transceiver control module". And I'm pretty sure I didn't have it on there about a year ago when I checked, because I would have researched it back then if it was there.

The code shows as active in all other modules that it affects as I guess, so I get it as an active code under:

-TIPM
-Instrument Cluster
-Radio
-AMP
-maybe WCM module as well... I can't recall exactly.

The ITM module seems to be a part of the center dome light on export (EU) Patriots and other Jeeps as well. So it's not an subject you find a lot on online unfortunately, I read the following thread regarding a Aussie Grand Cherokee that was popping the same code. A simple unplug and plug of the connector in the dome light seems to have fixed it for these guys: Vehicle Security Light won't turn off - Page 2 - AUSJEEPOFFROAD.COM Jeep News Australia and New Zealand

I wasn't so lucky though, I tried plug/unplug and that didn't work, also battery disconnect. So I ordered and spare used dome light on eBay. Tried swapping it out yesterday but no luck. Still throws the same code...

Funny thing is that most people probably wouldn't know they have the code as it doesn't change anything per se, car starts fine, no warning lights, locks/unlocks fine etc. Nothing to indicate that there's some sort of problem. I don't even noticing anything unusual with the red blinking alarm light when car is locked.

- Anyone else here who have happened to come upon this problem before?

- Any knowledge on how to "test" the ITM module, I read that it's sensors detecting movement inside the car when locked. Anyone can confirm this? If so I suppose if I sit inside and lock the car with the fob, wait 30 sec or whatever the time is for the alarm to arm and then move around and see if it triggers? If it triggers the ITM module should be working despite the code saying differently, if I get no alarm when moving then the ITM module has lost comms with the TIPM. Does this make sense? :D

- If there's anyone else with an Export Patriot that has the AppCar DiagFCA, can you check if the module shows up in the list of modules in the app, when I connect it scans and loads ITM module, but it's not listed with the other modules. And I haven't paid attention to it earlier so I can't say if it should show up as a seperate module on the list or not.

Thanks Sandstone, I'll look into those tomorrow! I checked fuse 21 when I noticed the code the first time, just after a quick glance in the owners manual "IOD Feed Intrus Mod/Siren" but i didn't look at fuse 7 at all so wil check that first, as well as double check 21.

I read those same pages you attached just after I wrote the post above, and going through these, comments below

Possible Causes
CAN B BUS CIRCUITS OPEN OR SHORTED - IF it was this the situation, then I'd probably have a lot of other problems as well?

DTC’S RELATED TO BATTERY VOLTAGE, IGNITION, OR VIN MESSAGES TIPM NOT CONFIGURED CORRECTLY - Could possible be this as I have TPMS disabled which throws a mismatch code, but I'm pretty sure its ECU mismatch code that comes up because, so nothing that should relate to VIN or Ignition though...

IOD FUSE NOT INSTALLED - I'll check those fuses tomorrow so they're not blown or have a bad connection

INTRUSION TRANSCEIVER CONTROL MODULE POWER AND GROUND - Possible to look into this, if I get the pin out of the ITM connector going to the dome light. Then I could just check with a multimeter that it actually receives both properly.

INTRUSION TRANSCEIVER CONTROL MODULE - Well I swapped it to another dome/ITM module so shouldn't be this at least.

MODULE THAT SET THIS DTC - Not really sure what they mean here, fault within another module that is communicating with the ITM, would prob. be instrument cluster, AMP, ORC or Radio then. But then again I presume I'd be having other codes related to that specific faulty module as well if that was the case.

I'll start with the fuses tomorrow, hopefully you're right and it's no7 and I only checked 21 last time!
