I have a 2017 model Patriot Sport 4x4 with the exact same issue. I have done everything I could think of and don't know what to do next. Had it recalibrate at a shop, visually checked all actuators and all are working and moving to the correct positions accordingly. Flushed the heater core even though both inlet and outlet hoses were hot. And flushed the coolant system due to it needing to be done anyways due to the body shop mixing universal coolant with the oem that had a different chemical base. When getting the recalibration done the battery died so I just replaced the battery as well. Also this is not a dual climate control just a manual. So from I can see there is only 3 actuators, air direction, temperature and recirculation which was the three I verified all is operating correctly.
Please help, this problem is getting the best of me! Lol

Hi, welcome to forum.

There aren't a lot of instances of this, but in one case replacing the heater core apparently fixed it, though there's no info on exactly what was wrong with it:

In another case, it was the pleated recir / fresh air door that wasn't sealing and allowing cold air to leak in while driving, making the passenger side cold.

Hope this helps.....

Thank you for looking into those other two cases. But the thing is, this 17 Jeep Patriot only has 80k on it too. After all that I've done with the heater core and visually seeing the recirc, flap; I have confirmed the heater core is in fact getting to the 195⁰F accordingly by taking the cover off the side when observing the actuator lever that controls that temperature flap as well the heater core hoses inlet and outlet are both hot. And even though I confirmed that data I still completed the heater core flush and coolant system flush.
As well when taking the glove box out and seeing everything on that side including the recirc. Door, actuator and air direction actuator, I did look at the seal for the recirc. Door and observed it is sealing 100% when stationary considering I have not looked at it while driving. But I didn't think I would need too considering I am having these symptoms when stationary in the Jeep too.

Definitely a weird one...

For fun I checked on the Caliber forum, some there have had the same issue.

Someone confirmed it's the heater core (at least in their case), it apparently gets clogged in such a way that not enough fluid circulates to heat the passenger side:

"Pain in the butt!!!
Ok so the problem is the Heater Core. They get plugged and then the coolant can't get to the passenger side. Now the bad news is that you have to remove the whole dash down to the firewall to replace the heater core. The part is about $100 online or at a dealer. I could not find it at a parts store in town. If you plan on taking it to a shop or dealer hang on to your wallet !! This is a all day job and the bill will run you between 800- 1000$. I hope this helps!! "

In case you decide you want to replace the heater core, there's a good DIY on it here:

Could the heater core be blown out with compressed air to clean it out? Or even just a garden hose? Way back in my Navy days I had an 89 Cavalier. The heat stopped working and it turned out to be a clogged heater core. I took it to the base Auto Hobby shop along with a new core and one of the house mechanics suggested I tried blowing it out before I tore my dash apart. That worked, and it still had that heater core in it when I traded it in 2 years later.

I successfully unclogged my daughter's Ford Taurus heater core years ago (a common problem). There's lots of you tube videos on heater core flushing. Be careful NOT to use excessive pressure). I would try this first, before replacing it. I would also try to exhaust all other possibilities before replacement.

The Taurus has a time saving "work around" to avoid dash removal. So does the Patriot. PLEASE EXCUSE A PORTION OF THE VIDEO - THE POSTER (RIP) WAS A BIT LEWD, probably thought it was just humor.

This following video at minute 3:17 also mentions the Patriot work around (with good view)............I would have no problem doing this work around for sure, and I tend to be a by-the-book type.

UPDATE- It was the heater core due to Mark's Muffler 2 years ago putting there universal coolant in my Jeep when I was working too much to do the dag on oil change myself.... The overflow was a little low due to having the radiator replaced from a deer 3 years ago. Thanks for everyone's input!
