I have a 2010 Jeep Patriot with an OEM AM/FM Radio / CD player. I put in a CD the other day and now it will not eject. It is a standard CD (Beatles White Album Anniversay Edition). When I press eject there does not seem to be any mechanical movement. The display shows 'EJT' and then 'Disc Err'. A double press of the 'Disc' button will get it playing again. I removed the radio from the vehicle and took off the bezel. I see the CD in there. There are two posts that are blocking the removal. Is there any way to manually eject the CD? I guess I wouldn't mind having The White Album as the only CD I could ever listen to, but I'd like to have options.

Look for a black gear on the top right side of the radio. Try turning it slightly and see if the disk comes out.
OK - I got it out. I could see the black gear on the side of the radio through the casing. This led to me examining the top of the casing. I was able to pry it off with a little bit of effort. This exposed the gear you mentioned. But, it did NOT budge at all. So, with the removal of 6 screws, I was able to remove the top cover of the CD unit itself. After a little bit of poking around, I found I could lift the arm holding the CD in place just enough to slide it out. Now I have the unit back in dash and when I press the eject button, the gears definitely move. However, the unit still thinks it has a CD inserted. I'm not going to send one in to reset it. The radio works. The AUX works. That's all I need.
