Just wanted to let everyone know –today at 10:00 am EST Chrysler LLC will reveal the new Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK) at the New York Auto Show... Don’t worry, if you can’t make it to the show, there will be simulcast video streaming real-time from the event… If you’re interested click on the link below to check out the video once it’s available:

Don’t forget – 04/08/09 10:00 am EST!

Those of you who make it a habit of visiting http://www.jeep.com/en/?pid=Forum&adid=2011WKReveal on a regular basis are probably already “in the know”… Just consider this a brief reminder…

Cheers,

Yes, we have already been discussing it....
not a surprise considering Chrysler had to include it in their proposal to the government...
definitely a dissapointment (to me anyway) on the exterior looks (sell-outs) and not a smart move to make a big deal about it since every decision is being scrutinized. So what are they unveiling, a still gas guzzling SUV...
Anything more inline with the need to become viable (and deserving of taxpayer assistance).... nope

It looks like what was left over of an attempted Trailhawk after the number crunchers got done with it.....Lets take a pretty decent looking concept and see how much we can make it look like every other soccer-ute in the world. I hate to say this but Jeep is really starting to lose my respect.

Actually; this thing is quite nice. It's supposed to compete with Land Rover, you can tell by the anemnities it has. They've moved the Grand Cherokee up-market is all. It doesn't look anything like the Trailhawk except in some subtle lower-grille work. It's definitely more refined than the previous generation; I want to see this thing in person, to check it out, honestly. My guess is, it looks better in person too.

Just watch the video of the reveal and listen to the stuff that it comes with. This thing is definitely up-market from the current model. The rear end does seem to have some Journey influence; but mostly they've gone back to 90s smooth with the design

yeah, its really a nice looking truck. they are definitly playing ball in the big leagues now.

Compass has a big brother "car" now.
It really doesn't look all that much different than my wife's 03 WJ. I really wish they would have integrated square headlights for more of the ZJ look.

With fuel economy standards increasing, we only have to look at the anti-recreationists/eviornmentialists wannabees, for the lack of the 'square' look of Jeep today. We're all going to be driving patotoes-on-wheels pretty soon.

...Is it wrong that my first thought upon seeing the picture was "how do you mount a CB antenna on that"? :D

Meh, appearance-wise it looks fairly giant-running-shoe-on-wheels-ish, like every other SUV out there. But I'll reserve my judgment until I see how it does on the trails. ;) The way it looks is secondary to how well it works.

O.K. Hoosier, This is getting really old and tired because you over use it in every post.:icon_rolleyes:

Personally, I love the new GC.....exterior and interior (especially the Overland model) looks really SWEET!....soft leather, real wood, more cargo room, heated steering wheel, power rear lift gate......what is not to like?...
and the lines of the exterior....nice....new 20" tires as well.....

I will be looking to buy when it comes out in Spring 2010....

I'm hoping they will come out with a diesel engine option for Canada and and EV version sometime in the near future....

Frosty, I'm sure Canadians will be getting the diesel before US.
