So I've been searching everywhere and just can't find the info I need.

What is the length of the front sway bar links?

I'm thinking ordering some limiting straps plus 2" of stock sway bar link length. I'm not sure of I will gain anything offroad from this but I'm willing to give it a shot.

I realize most models should be the same but if someone knows for a 2010 4x4 FDI that would be great.

On mine, it (sway bar link) measures 10.5" center to center of each mounting bolt. If you're not using a spacer lift kit, you can run disconnected without straps since the strut limits travel.

ok so I was thinking about the 2" plus idea but maybe I should go 4" and get rid of the sway bar link relocator that came with my rro kit

what do you think?
Are you planning on running disco'd all the time? If not, I'd add a set of JKS quicker disco's, but I'm biased.

I'd probably set the strap length by disconnecting the bar, then raising both front wheels off the ground and measure the angle of the axles. The strap length would be just long enough to keep either axle at no more than 15 degrees, and on the passenger side make sure the axle doesn't hit the control arm mount on the subframe.

I would not run disconnected 24x7. Sway bars are there for emergency maneuvers to help you from rolling over. Something worth having.

I was looking into this before I sold my pat, I'm sorry I don't remember the length, but you'll want to weld on mounting points, and take the straps off when not in use.

I agree on the safety aspect, having only the front of is a noticeable difference but not terrible.

My friend with a 96 ZJ Grand Cherokee has front and rear off.........it feels pretty sketchy at times:wow:

I get away with it but I have different coil springs. It's kind of hairy when you have to dodge road hazards at highway speeds.

so then maybe I should keep my drop brackets, go for a 10" strap for less flex of the strap. then it wont be as sketchy as the 14" I was thinking earlier.
apparently you can expect a strap to stretch 1" if it is 12" long under stress so..
10" would be 10 3/4"
14" would be 15 1/4"
