Myself and Saskriot went out today with a small group from the local offroad club, we had a blast!

Now for some videos, unfortunately the biggest hill climb of the day (which we both made it up, wasn't on film:doh:

Didn't matter how much speed I had, wasn't going to make it up.

Saskriot, didn't have any issues with the gravel hill, I did, smashed an AC line and no longer have air conditioning

Can't confirm but I think that AC line is out of place

All in all, a great day, will post more videos as I get them sorted out.

I think I might make a new thread when I Have more info about what happened. I did take pics while the new bumper was going on but nothing in that area to compare pictures to. If that isn't the issue, I notice the RRO steel bumper is slightly pushed into the condenser on the passenger side.

The thing with the Winch and bumper is there isn't much clearance so any type of abuse, and it could shift damaging it, and as videos prove i'm pretty rough on my compass.

Not a big deal, its fall here and winter soon to come, I won't need the AC for a while.

Nice pics and vids!

Just curious, did you guys air down at all?
Not an off-roading expert, but am sure airing down tires is only required when going over big rocks or rock crawling.
I'm sure it might help it other situations, but made sense when I was told about the air pressure when I rented a JK in Sedona.

Saskriot and myself were discussing airing down, after the fact, for some of the terrain it probably would have helped.

I especially notice having my sway bars connected again, going up hills I break traction a lot easier.

Airing down tires is pretty much a must on the sand dunes. Pretty much the only way to make it up "test hill" at Silver Lake. Was that AC line the one at the bottom passenger side of the radiator? I pushed mine back too, was blowing out steam or something in early 2013, haven't really looked into getting it replaced since. Don't really need AC when I have a window, but I admit I should probably look into replacing it in case I get to take the thing out west sometime.

Only thing I got to say is MOOO!!! MOOO!!!. The BLDs, the design by Jeep Corp. is what is stopping the Compass from making the Hill on the first attempt. MOOO!!! MOOO!!!... mine does it too, such a fricken waste IMO.

Thing is every other jeep model works amazing with the BLDs difference is those vehicles have more power and a low range

Yes I have "low range" 19:1 I should have clarified other jeeps have a lower low range and BLDs and they don't have issues. I have video proof of even a hemi powered grand Cherokee bogging down with BLDs due to lack of low range my friends v6 cherokee trailhawk will bog down in high gear in certain situations. 4 low and his problem goes away. It is a power problem. But I'd gladly like to see evidence that it isn't. :)

I saw your video of the Grand Cherokee with the Hemi. It comes down to the BLDs. Why else do ya pull the ETC fuse ? I'll leave it at that and thanks for posting the Videos. I've had Jeeps for 40 years. Keep on Keepin on with your Compass, I enjoy the Videos. ;)

Here's a video I like, its a V6 Grand Cherokee Quadra Trac II in some deepish sand.

Any MK would be stuck instantly, its just the way it is, Still love my Compass though, but i'm looking for something else;)

So I figure this is a good place to keep adding pictures for our outings. Today we went out in search of new trails to travel through and I think we succeeded.

I finally tried pulling the ABS Fuse on my FDI and wow what a difference. And Tyler did the same with his Compass.

We found some areas with a lot of slick mud and some got a little deep. I hung up the Riot bad enough that I was forced to get out the passenger side. Im glad I put that engine skid on a few weeks ago.

I don't have any photos during but this is the aftermath on my Riot:
