Hi there! My name is Ashlee. So, being a backwoods girl from the mountains of Southern WV (now residing in GA), I prefer larger vehicles, and I prefer them to be in the Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep group. However, I'm quite short (5'2") and I wanted a vehicle that I could get in and out of without much effort and I knew the Patriot was exactly what I was looking for. After pining over them for more than a year, on July 25, I finally made the plunge to get a black 2014 Jeep Patriot Sport 2.4 L automatic 4x2. Besides the automatic transmission and AC, my Pat is extremely basic. It has crank windows and manual locks, which I'm perfectly fine with. Though I would have preferred a manual transmission 4x4; money, incentives, the lack of vehicles on the lot, and the need to get rid of the 2005 Scion xA (inherited through divorce) while I could still get money out of it, attributed to my choice... and to be honest, the lack of cruise control with a manual also influenced my decision. Regardless of what I preferred, I love the decision I've made and figure out cool things about it every day. For instance, a friend of mine, who owns a Compass, told me about the trunk light flashlight the yesterday. I know that's pretty elementary, but, COOL!
So far, I've added some crossbars and will add a j-rack for my kayak later this afternoon. I would eventually like to get a basket and maybe even some larger wheels. Obviously, I'm pretty new and I'm still feeling out all the possibilities of my CUV, but I've already learned a lot of interesting modifications from this forum.
Also, I'm not sure if anyone else has given their Pat a name, but I've named my Cortana.
