I'm going into this afternoon to pick up my jeep and just curious is different dealers are working deals or just selling them at MSRP.
I know there is $500.00 cash available on the 2007 SPORTS, but is that it?? or has people seen some wiggle room with the price.

dont even quote prices for us in the uk. I got around ÂŁ800 off($1600) but 2.0 CRD ltd still cost around $37,000 in N Ireland. Much worse in Rep Of Ireland!!!!!!!

I got a 4 x 4 sport, and yes they only say they got $500 rebate, but you can get allot more. Make sure you haggle with the Invoice price, MSRP is bull****. They will keep trying to tell you that it's the lowest they will go but don't listen to them. Mine was like $20,895 (msrp) and invoice was like $19,860 or something like that, lets just say I got mine for $17,999 + TTL. O yeah I also but mine in cash, so I guess I got a pretty good deal. It's also the 26E package..

I got mine for invoice. Don't let them tell you MSRP is all they can do.

$16501 for a 2008 4x2 2.4L CVT with no options.

This was $100 below invoice and at a local dealer (they matched the big city price).

Might be worth calling/emailing around to some of the big dealerships and getting quotes even if you don't intend to buy there.

Its worth mentioning that I had no trade-in. Sometimes they will rip people off on the trade and then sell for under invoice and it seems like a sweet deal...

CHECK OUT THIS SITE http://www.carbuyingtips.com/

Spend 45 minutes absorbing the wisdom contained here and you will be amazed and much wiser on how the car buying process happens and how so so so many people fall "victim" to unscrupulous salesmen. Not all dealers are bad eggs but more than a fair share are. Think about the last time you saw a poor new car dealer (the owner). He made his money somewhere....
I wish all buyers would read this....

got my 4x2 for 100 below invocie cause it was an 07 plus the rebate and i got more patriot for the money as i ws gonna get a base with a 2.0 and wound up with a 2.4 cvt sport.

That invoice price seems a little high... Based on the combinations I've run the diff between MSRP and invoice runs between $1200-$1500.

Regardless, you still got a good deal with two discounts, and even if you paid a few hundred above invoice before the discounts, that's not bad considering these are selling well... Enjoy... I'm going to try to get a deal on an '08 Monday (i want the '08 because of the Autostick)

Might want to consider selling private party if your old car is worth much of anything, and in good operating condition.

Dealer offered me $5500 on my trade... I said no thanks, and posted it on Craigslist for $7000 (booked at almost $8000). Took it to the car wash and spent two hours with the wash and vacuum.

Two people came and looked, both wanted to buy it, and first one with cash in hand drove away.

If you really try to get top dollar for it through a private party sale, then the process can drag on quite a long time, but if you are reasonable with your asking price, most folks will recognize that and be ready to buy if everything checks out.

Of course, if your current rig needs major mechanical repairs, probably best to trade...

Thanks for the advice! My brother actually suggested the same thing...

Knock on wood, my car is in great condition and hasn't even hit 80k miles yet! I got it new in 2002 and though I love it (it's cute, dependable, and great with mileage) my hubz and I are SO ready for a Pat! :D

#15 ·
Depends on the type of car you have right now, if it's something that's fairly in-demand, you'll definitely fare better going private party. I had an older Toyota RAV4 which was in great shape so an easy sell.

On the other hand, a Ford Excursion is going to be a tough sell in the era of $3 gas, you're going to get very little for it anyway so might as well save the hassle of selling on your own...

We'll be getting 1% below invoice through Hubby's employer. Hopefully there will be an incentive in play when I order (Nov 07) or take delivery (Jan/Feb 08). Any chance to save a little more money. :)

I know it's not the best deal, but please tell me if this seems pretty fair:

2007 Sport 4x4
26E Package
- fog lamps
- all season mats
- YES essential cloth seats
- ABS brakes
- Jeep Green color

For: $19,628 (-$500 more if I finance through Chrysler)
The only thing it doesn't have that I wanted, is the 17" wheels.

Does that sound like a good deal?

#20 ·
That does sound like a good deal to me, I got mine which is the same as yours and an 07, but i don't have 4x4, for 19,500, $175 over invoice +TTL, before any rebates or anything. I got a the $500 rebate so it brought the price down to 19000 which then is 325 under invoice so compared to what I paid, your only paying $128 more for 4x4.

But go to jeep.com and price it out as you want to buy it, and compare the prices, they should be the same. Also do check out Kelly Blue Book, however I found them to say invoice for the jeeps to be more than what the invoice really is, but it will give you an idea

Hi,

I'm assuming you got it with the 5 speed transmission and the 2.4 engine. Sounds fine to me. With me it's more important what dealer I get my car from. My local dealer is a top-notch dealer, treats the customers like family. I'm willing to pay more for that service. Good luck with your car, I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.

I got mine Sunday for 24,500
4x4 limited with leather
offroad package
the transmission package with 19/1 ratio (or whatever the technical details were of that option)
and a sun roof.
dark blue.

I also paid an extra 2k for the lifetime bumper to bumper warrantee on top of the free lifetime drive train warrantee.
I just got mine off a lot. it was pretty much all I wanted. I didn't really want the sunroof but I didn't want to wait for factory.

I was going to get a crd liberty but it's pretty cutthroat trying to get one these days. I had one lined up in california. I'd bought plane tickets, lined up insurance and financing and they called me to tell me it had sold right after I had finished doing all that. Then I went to the jeep site to see if they had a line on certified liberties and saw their lifetime drive train warantee and the patriot (which I had never seen before) and was absolutely smitten.

First of all welcome! Second, lifetime bumper to bumper? First I heard of that! Sounds kewl long as there insn't a dedctible.

#22 ·
hi! there is a per visit deductible of 100 you can buy it with no deductible or 50 deductible but that really raises the price. the guy dealing with us said we were the first to buy the new warrantee from him and that they've only had it available for about two weeks.

Don't remember exactly what I paid for mine (I wanted it and didn't pay too close attention), but sticker price was about $25k, but had it marked down to $22k. Then they gave me an additional $1000 "customer cash", which brought it down to $21k. Then they gave me $6000 on my trade-in, which was $2000 more than I was expecting.

The really odd thing was, the loaded 4x4 limited that I bought was marked down to the same price as the base no-frills 4x4 sitting next to it on the lot. I didn't question their motives, I just took the better deal. Oh, and before someone says I'm an idiot for falling victim to some sort of marketing ploy to get me to buy the limited, I have no regrets.

#26 ·
ouch! sounds like you did slightly better than I did. mine was actually 24.2 after the rebate but I didn't get the music pkg or the consumer preference package. then again what part of the country you're in might make a difference as to price too. I am in bellevue/seattle where everything is super expensive comparitively to most of the country. (other than ny or cali.)

See my signature for config, plus I got free oil changes for 3yrs/36,000 miles, free replacement tires for the life of the vehicle, and free state inspections for the life of the vehicle.
$24,500

My 07 Pat was stickered @ $33K Canadian and has:

Base Limited (24,435)

Navigation (2895)
Sirius (225)
Sunroof (850)
Boston Acoustics (395)
Freedom Drive II (390)
CVT2L (1700)
Tow Prep (30)
Driver Convenience Group (395)
OWL Tires (275)
Full Size Spare (175)
Destination (1200)

I don't remember what comes included with packages like the Limited mind you. I think every possible option except U-Connect without going into add-ons like iPod Integration (which is $427 Cdn installed btw).

Scored it for $29,300 Canadian :smiley_thumbs_up: -- basically, I got the Nav and sat radio for free and paid list for everything else. But when the Nav and Sat are 10% of the total cost of the vehicle, that matters.

I think I did okay. :)

Did not in any way mean to be unpleasant... way to negotiate and if they mixed up the numbers well keep your contract well stored and demand the price they quoted you!!! Have fun with your Patriot :O)
