Mine ripped off the other week ...

There should be two pins with 2 holes in the trim. Have a check under the dash and you will see them both there (pins and holes).

I just cut 2 new holes, pulled the pins out and put it back together.

 

I have the same issue on my Jeep Liberty. I think my mechanic took it down to work on my heater and never really put it back right. He may have even torn the fabric. What do the pins look like, so I know what I'm looking for?

 

I looked, but didn't see any pins. What I did find was a wad of black sticky stuff stuck to the bottom of the glove box. It was just stuck there and didn't seem to serve a purpose, so in guessing the trim piece was just stuck to it.

 

I noticed you have a 2014 model.

Unless they changed it with the 2011+ models and just used that sticky stuff??

 

I had to pull mine down when I replaced my blower motor resistor, and it hasn't gone back into place since then, it is hanging down slightly. It's too flimsy to be able to get it to stay put in the spot it's supposed to be.

Dealer replaced mine,it was held in place with 2 pins I was told. The old one was not held in place with any sticky stuff the pins just broke!

 

I'm thinking of trying some Velcro. If that doesn't hold I'll head back to the dealer.

 

Should definitely work.

 

Do you know the official name of this part so I could buy a replacement?

 

I could not find any pins in mine, just held in place with some crappy black goop!
