In the FWD Patriot, the CVT trans appears to be the same 2007-2017.However, the Jetco JF011E is NOT interchangeable between the 2.4 liter and 2.0 liter engines. Can any one tell me what is different about the transmissions? Perhaps the only difference is the ROM memory inside the trans, or is there more?

This applies to Front Wheel Drive Patriots ONLY.(FWD)
The FWD Patriot came with two engines the 2.4 liter or 2.0 liter.
The CVT transmission for both engines is listed as the CVT2.
The CVT2 transmission is NOT interchangeable between the two engines. Each engine has its own variant of the CVT2.
My question is what is different?
I have both transmissions and they appear identical..(electrical connectors- mounting bolts etc), and both are called CVT2
However, if you go on ebay it says the two transmissions are NOT interchageable.
Another interesting thing is used 2.4 liter CVT2 seem to be twice as expensive as used 2.0 liter CVT2 transmissions..at least on Ebay.
