I posted some time ago about a touch screen. Someone said they had one, but I lost track
of who it is or even if that person even has the unit anymore. If anyone has one and it works okay
please let me know as I would like to upgrade my Jeep a bit :)

Peace

I have a different head unit than you installed, but here are some thoughts for things you might have:

USB - If you are not going to be routinely plugging a phone or whatnot into it, use cables that are long enough to feed into the glovebox. That’s where I have a USB memory stick with my music.

Microphone: Start by clipping the microphone to the sun visor, then run the wire over to the top of the pillar trim, tuck it behind and toward the rear of the vehicle, and down the pillar. Pull the trapezoidal end cap (it pops off) and feed the wire through the round hole in the support frame, then hand it off to yourself into the space behind the radio. Coil up the excess, and use a couple of zip ties to keep any slack from hanging down from under the steering wheel area.

GPS Sensor - Position the sensor where you want it, and secure it. I initially hung the sensor from the mirror with zip ties and tucked the wire under the headliner, then over to the pillar. The rest was done just like the microphone. I later went back and moved the sensor to the dash in front of the driver as close to the windshield as I could manage, securing it with 3M Double Lock (the stuff the provide with EZPass tags), but you could also use Velcro tape. Being lazy, I didn’t pull back all the slack, but had just enough that I ran the wire down between the pillar trim and the windshield, using a piece of long foam to keep the wire in place.

Backup Camera - Here’s how did it: https://www.jeeppatriot.com/posts/1909889/

As I indicated, it’s necessary (IMO) to feed the radio ends of the cables through the round frame hole behind the trapezoidal end cap to go to the radio. Otherwise, you have the PITA issue of feeding long lengths of cable under the dash and possibly having an accessory that won’t fit through the frame hole.

Hope this helps!

I think I found part of my issue of staying connected. The Bluetooth calling and associated phone
functionality works okay. Where in the nine living hells does the mic plug into? I looked all over
the back today when I was plugging in the USB cables, did not see where it connects. I got the
GPS unit on the dash, ill mount it later. I have a dash cover that I can hide the wire under :)

I have found that running the camera extension cable is pretty easy, you can tuck it under the panels if you don’t want to remove them. Just use one of those plastic interior trim tools to push the cable under the panel between the carpet. (they sell a nice set at harbor freight or on amazon for cheap).

also when you run the extension, go on the drivers side below all the side panels, but when you get to the back seat, run it up and over the top of the panel in the cargo area, because then your cable will come out right where the rubber tube grommet is. You have to run that cable through the rubber tube grommet, and that’s problematic for many people. So my advice is to cut off the end of the cable (leaving atleast 6-8” of wire on the plug), then use heat shrink butt connectors to connect the individual wires inside the cable back together. It’s much easier to get it through that grommet with the other wires if it’s just the cable and not the plug. I’ve heard of a lot of people damaging the plug trying to push the head through the grommet so this is a better and easier solution.
