You will definitely need a lift, but in your case I'd be concerned about the width. I ran 225/75-16s this last summer on my unlifted 2008 and got a slight rub at times. You'd be 1" taller and 1.5" wider than mine. That's about 3" taller and 2" wider than OEM size. They're enormous! As I said, mine were a pretty tight fit, you're going well beyond what I did.

First try using a tire size calculator. One of our site sponsors Discount Tire Direct has a calculator on their site and it will give you a pretty good idea of how they'll fit. Also to be on the safe side, do a trial fit before you put out big bucks for a set of tires.

There's a lot of tire size threads on this site. This might be our leading category! Try using the search box at the right end of the green menu bar and see if someone else has had the same question.

Good luck and please let us all know how it turns out.

Looks like this what u want to do. Not the first jeep that’s mine a buddy has the other one the gray one, he has 265/70 on it with a 1-1/2” inch lift yes he does have rub and a pinch weld, don’t go so big that u won’t be able to enjoy ur jeep at all. I have cooper at3 235/60 r17 and I am enjoying the ride no rubbing only with a bit of rubbing but only on a full lock.
