I just got a deal on another SKAR1500 so the 15s will be coming out and getting replaced with four 12s. I'm not sure which yet. Sundown sa12s, skar vvx's or something of that nature. Should be about another 100+ inches of cone area than the 15s on twice the power. Front doors are getting moved to the rear to make room for the comp set. I'm deeply considering glassing up some pods for an RE XXX set up front. Definitely no overnight project, but I'm hoping for high 140's under 40hz. I hate car audio. It's never enough and never gets cheaper. :p

I can get over 145 with a single 12" Type X with 1000rms. I sure hope u can get close to 150 with all that lol.

In what box and at which frequency? It's not a burp box. I can snag a 160 with a 12 in a crx too. This current setup has done a 142.8 on music in a box tuned to 30hz. And going from 145 to 150 is HUGE. doesn't sound like much but it is.

Honestly I don't know much about the frequency. I set my amp and sub output @80htz I believe. And the box is just a slotted box I got from the shop. Nothing custom. I know it takes lots of power to get up in the 150s. Just figured with all that 150 should be reachable.

Yea, most people that are in it for numbers will tune pretty high. Up by the vehicles resonant frequency. They're built to play a test tone for 2-3 seconds. If they were to actually play music on a setup like that at the same power levels, failure would occur pretty quickly. The 80 Hz you speak of is some type of low pass filter. 80 is fine for just about any substage. It doesn't really take a TON of power to get to 150's. It's a matter of acoustics, box size/tuning/placement, etc. But to do it on a daily driven vehicle built to play music, it's not the easiest (or cheapest) thing to do. :p

Yea. If I had money for a DDZ I would be part of a mercedes forum. Lol

Ok.. change of plans. I can't fit four 12's up top and it would drive me crazy having two subs mounted on the front and two up top. OCD thing.. So, here's the final plan for the sub stage for any bass heads out there.

Eight Sundown SA-8's on 3,000w for now. Gonna get a 5kW amp soon, but they should still get down on 3k. And believe it or not, that box is smaller than my current with more cone area. :) Build starts real soon. Just sold my current subs so here's one last video of them gettin' busy. Yes, I felt macho as all hell wangin' out to this song. :p
