does anyone know what the price is of the sunroof seal. I think mine is compressed too much or just old. I had no leaks the first 3 years I owned it. I tried adjusting for 2o minutes with a waterhose on the roof leaked from all 4 corners, I only seemed to slow it down a bit, I could see daylight in one of the corners.

drain is clear, as I stated I can see daylight around the seal. Maybe if the seal would seal then I would not get leaks :p just a thought. I don't have a real bad issue with it, at the most I get a cup of water and now that I am back home I put it in the garage

when my sunroof leaked on previous car no shop would repair sunroofs they didnt install, and could never find parts, on mine, i filled some gaps with silicone to complete the seal,
also watch for overtightening, if roof around sunroof looks wavy, it has been overtightened

no idea. I thought mine was good until year 3, I think the rubber got compressed, or the glass wrapped , for some reason chrysler seems to think its the drain tubes the only place they can get clogged is the end which they have not addressed. but as i said before if you can keep the water out you don't need the tubes.

I had my entire sunroof replaced under warranty because my sunroof was warped, and they said that would have cost about $2000.00 if it had not been covered. No idea on what it would cost to just replace the seal around the glass.

Jeep Patriot Sun Roof Seal

Hows the new sun roof seal holding up? Can you explain what you had to do to replace it? My wife's 2012 patriot just gave puked a ton of water out of the front dome light. I checked the seals and sure enough its leaking in the corners. Drains function normally. Except I am sure they were froze up as it's been freezing and thawing for several days recently. Did you have to take the glass out? or can it be pulled around the glass while in the vehicle?

Anyone have instructions for replacing the sun roof seal? Those little drain holes are not going to keep up. I am also thinking of the recalibration of the sun roof too... Maybe this will help, but it looks to close in the right place now..

They are supposed to leak and always will leak (the seal that is). They leak into the channel and then out the drain tubes. The grommets in the firewall are your problem. They are a bad design, 90 degree grommets with 'fingers' molded in to catch debris or something. They clog up. I took mine out, cut the 90 off and reamed them out to put the 3/8" drain tube all the way through and into the engine compartment. I replaced all drain tubes while I was at it. This will fix it PERMANENTLY, anything else is a band-aid.

But to answer your original question to replace the seal, I am quite sure you need to remove the headliner completely out. As long as you are that far in fix the drain tubes and be good to go forever.

I found the seal at rockauto. I was surprised they had this OEM part. I'm still looking for a good install video.

I'm thinking that once I replace it the drains should be able to keep up. My Patriot is 14yrs old and the seal just isn't working like it used to. The front dome light leak only appears during heavy rains.
