I know for certain the harness is different. Midyear 2008, the harness was changed over to a new style. So that may be a pain to attempt to find the proper two different style harnesses to mate.

 

like creation said, harnesses are different. the newer radios also require a vin code to be flashed to get them to work, and dealerships wont do it if it wasnt an option for your year patriot. I've tried to do this before. Better off going aftermarket this time...

 

I put a 2009 mygig rbz in my 2011 patriot with zero problems. All hook ups were the same

 

Unfortunately that's exactly the opposite of what he's asking. He want's to put a late model first radio in early model first gen. You put a late model first gen radio, in a second generation which is doable since the hookups were changed midyear 2008.

When I was doing my tablet install I found the radio harness was changed midyear, as the harness I bought was 2008-2014 which didn't raise any alarms until it didn't fit. Upon speaking to the company, they released that they had two separate harness plugs for 2008.

 

Its fitt you need only the lockpick adapter!
