Sound Deadening

So I just started my sound deadening project which, so far, has cost me about 140 dollars. I am using second skin b-stock which is too thin for a vibration deadener and does not seem to do much. I also would like to note the the pat has a support bar that runs across the inside door panel diagonally which should stop vibrations. I also bought some closed cell foam which will hopefully stop higher pitched driving noises.

I would like to note that the Pat has a tough inner door panel to access. You have to stick your hand through a gap in the door once the plastic trim is off. I will upload some pictures in the next few days that will help explain what I am talking about.

I have not tested any of the results yet as I haven't finished the project. I will post a video of the installation and the sound inside after I am done.

Yeah access is really tricky on the Pat. It was a pain trying to roll GT mat on the door skin with such weird openings.

Sorry about the delay in my thread here. I ended up putting the deadener and the foam sheets in the front door, the front foot wells, and the trunk. I didn't line the rear doors because I couldn't get the off. There was something holding it on that was not on the front doors and I just couldn't find it. I don't have the video with me but I do know the results know.

As far as speaker sound, the foam really takes the bass out of the front speakers. I got a subwoofer so that problem is gone.

The overall road noise is still there. To me it sounds like wind, it may be the seal on the doors and windows.

However I had deadened only one back wheel for a while and I could actually hear noise only coming from the wheel that I didn't sound proof. I am pretty sure that the foam sheets were what were blocking most of the noise since most of the noise coming through is air borne.

I would recommend not deadening the trunk (where the spare tire is). It was a huge waste of the deadener.

Overall, I would only recommend sound proofing problem areas. The inside door frame and windows rails cut up your hands really bad too
