Replacing the factory radio in a MK is EXTREMELY EASY. I done this over 50 times in different brands/models of vehicles and the Jeep is one of the easiest!
To remove radio bezel, just pull on it. Then you have 4 philips screws and that it! Radio removal is done.
Then you can install any aftermarket radio 1DIN or 2DIN in a minutes with a "mounting kit" and a 5$ 2007+ Chrysler universal harness.
PLEASE BE AWARE the 60-80$ Chrysler interface module (Metra, PAC, etc.) is a SCAM and it's not needed at all for Jeep MKs. The module only provide the +12V switched power output which is missing in the factory radio harness. But you just need to connect the +12V switched wire of the radio (RED WIRE) to the cigarette lighter +12V (RED WIRE) and that's it! Cigarette lighter power harness is located 1 inch lower to the radio and it's fully accessible. There's absolutely NO side effects of this procedure, anyone who will say the opposite are bull****ing you! Everything work as factory including the RAP (Retain Power Accessories), the factory alarm, the factory remote starter, factory door/light chimes, etc. The expensive module is a SCAM, period. In my Chevrolet I did the installation with a 5$ harness instead of the module and I lost the door chimes, but this is not a big concern, but this is NOT the case in the JEEP.
If you need any more help, do not hesitate!
