My Patriot is going on 45,000 miles. Spark Plugs never changed so Im thinking of changing them. What are the best brand plugs to use on the Jeep? Also, what number should they be gapped at? Where about on the engine are they located? Are they like the Neon where they are at the top of the engine? Or are they in an annoying tight spot?

You should do that asap. 30,000 miles seems to be the right spot for the plugs on the Patriot. Replace with the same stock plugs, nothing fancy. They are very easy to access, should be very similar to the Neon layout.

Top of the engine, piece of cake. The stock plugs are NGK, and they're quite good. I bought mine at O'Reilly for something like $8.

I swapped them out at 25K miles and saw an immediate improvement in throttle response.

I think I'm going to change mine at 25K miles, too. OEM NGKs are like $35 here (total).

better double check your gap spec...look at the emission sticker under your hood...I bet it is .044 or .045

$8a or $8 total? You should not pay more than $2ea for any copper plug. Pick your favorite brand, Autolite, NGK, whatever.
