Quality Seat Covers Needed!

I just purchased myself a 2012 Jeep Patriot 4x4 Sport.

It comes with "Premium Cloth Seats". The seat material feels like a polyester/ cotton blended t-shirt. Very thin and non-durable. I wish they offered that "Yes! Fabric" everyone was talking about that was on thier 2008 Models. But no, it was either premium cloth or leather. So I saved $2000 on the model vehicle and went cloth.

Anyhow back to topic. I know I will have to pay over $300 for custom fit, to fit over the back 60/40 split bench and still make them usable. I skimmed through the forum and it looks like Neoprene seems to be the popular fabric.

I went to carcoverplanet.com and see they have Neosupreme for $149 per row. And then you got your Mopar #82210334 going for around $360.

My only concern about the Mopar ones is they don't protect the headrest. And the passenger seat is a tight fit. So am leaning toward the Neosupreme.

Quality, fit, durability, and bang for buck is my concern. Any suggestions or experience would be appreciated for my future purchase.

Thanks.

Thanks all for your input.

I ordered the Coverking Neosupreme covers from carid.com

They have headrest covers and is two toned so I can match the gray interior.
Was looking at the autoanything.com reviews on them and it seemed positive. I purchased from carid.com because they were $50 cheaper per row than autoanything. $299.98 Total with free s/h.

Note: active headrests means the headrest moves forward so you have less travel to help prevent whiplash.

The MOPAR covers are Neoprene? That must be something unique to Jeep covers as the other covers( dodge and chrysler )are/were just a standard material and when installed have lots of wrinkles.

Neosupreme is fake neoprene. That name tells me they are Coverking unless someone else stole their material name. Coverking makes excellent seat covers but the fake neoprene does not hold up well( they actually don't make the Neosupreme anymore ). I have used their real neoprene covers and they fit great and are of the best quality. Wet Okole covers are also excellent( neoprene too ). Spend the extra $70 a row and get the real neoprene covers from Coverking or the extra $100 +/- from Wet Okole( their covers have additional padding on the inside that Coverking does not ).

I got fabric swatches on Coverking's NeoSupreme and Neoprene seat covers and I thought the Neoprene was way better. Also they wrote about the Neoprene resisting sun fade, which customers have noted that the Wet Okole color will fade. The padding on the Neoprene swatch was twice as thick as the padding on the NeoSupreme. I don't know if that will be the actual padding though.

And, despite your misgivings, the cloth seats in my Patriot are wearing like iron.

I do have my driver's seat covered with a ballistic nylon protector because I'm in and out probably 40 times a day...20 stops would be about average but I use my vehicle as a work truck so I'm constantly sliding boxes of switches, tool bags, buckets, stuff, in and out of the vehicle.

Now, not all of that on the cloth seats but quite a bit more than your average owner I'd expect.

everything is holding up just fine.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I ran into a guy who had Coverking Neosupreme on his LandRover. He said he got them from carid.com He said he had them for a little less than 2 years. Saying he throws his golf clubs in the back seat all the time and he gets in and out alot to do his real estate job. They looked like they held up pretty well.

So I went ahead and ordered a set from carid.

Note: what are "cut-outs for rear backside latches"? This is what I ordered for back row set.

(CRK-JP7280-2A) - 60/40 Split, W/Built-In Headrest, W/Cut-Outs Ror Rear Backside Latches (In Front Of Wheel Wells)

Not sure if you are still reading this thread.

No one has mentioned the srs airbags in the seats. Not all pats have this but if you do I do not think it would be a good idea to use seat covers in the front. Seems to me if could cause serious issues if you were in a crash.

Cygnusx1111,

There are different options when ordering the seat covers. I do not have airbags in my Sport's front seats. All I have is the "active head restraint" option which just pushes your headrest a little forward to help prevent whiplash during an accident.

Update: Seat covers fit ok, not perfect, but way better than generic ones. The back bench seat was the hardest part of the install because of the velcro. It kept sticking to everything. Also it does not come with center console cover. To sum it up, great investment for when it comes time for me to sell my vehicle.
