Hey guys, I've been on these forums for a while, but I don't post too often. Hopefully you guys can help me out.

I just had my tires replaced at 50,000 miles about a week ago. Now I've noticed a problem. There is a sound coming from the front drivers side tire (I think). It's like a "creaking" sound when I turn the wheel or go over a speed bump. In motion it sometimes sounds like something is "knocking" or "clicking." What are my most likely culprits? Is this from where the new tires were installed and the techs didn't do it right, or maybe something like the suspension or shocks going bad?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Same thing with mine, exact description of noise. I went to a larger size tire (225/65/17) is this your first tire change? it is for me. 50,000 miles as well, and i'm thinking tie-rod, ball joint?? just guessing. i planned on getting under there and taking a look tomorrow. I'll post what i discover.

Check the tie rods and/or sway bar bushings. Perhaps your old tires were just too noisy to hear the creaking before now?

I took it to another shop yesterday (I needed an oil change anyway) and asked if they'd take a look. They couldn't see anything wrong just from a topical look over, and they took the tire off and re-tightened it. Didn't work, still making the noise. I guess the next step is to take it to a dealer and see if it's anything covered under warranty.

Kevlep, did you find anything?

I did not, from an observation on the ground. I will jack it up and look again. The sound and clunk feeling is just as you described. FesterW - is the sway bar bushing at the rear of the vehicle? I'm hearing and actually feeling this under my feet.

There is a sway bar back there too but there is one in front too. There will be a curved bar coming from the top of the front suspension, follow it down to where it connects to the body structure and there is a rubber bushing on each side if it's like mine the bushing will be falling apart.

Deadbolt, Any luck yet? My '07 had a rattling noise that was even more noticable when the dealer replaced the front wheel bearings, I had the lower control arms replaced under warranty with 0 days left on the warranty...the dealer said since they didn't fix the complaint when they replaced the wheel bearings they would cover it, it now handles like brand new, it's just a shame that they were worn at 33000 miles.
