So far so good, the vehicle really fits our needs and does so at a little better price point than other vehicles in it's class.

Really Really happy to have a Jeep back in the garage!

Sorry guys, I'll get some pics up soon. We're very happy so far. It's the dark blue, limited edition with CVT. I'm very happy with the CVT, my daily driver is a Toyota Prius so I already knew what to expect. The "odd" thing is that it has a "manual shift" mode. My guess is that this just locks the CVT at certain ratios to give the illusion of shifting. Fairly useless to me although I suspect it will be handy for descending and winter driving. The CVT does not seem to be noisy at all but It's a good sized vehicle for a four-banger so the engine seems a little buzzy under hard acceleration. It's not bad by any means, just noticable. The interior is pretty well covered in cheap plastic but that's to be expected for this price range. We got this to make it a bit easier to load and unload our 8 month old and it was a much better buy than the competition.

dude, who did you have to sleep with to get the body-color mirrors?? the limited that was on ebay had black, and so do all the compasses in the press shots. so body-color mirrors aren't standard on limiteds, and i didn't think i saw them as an option on any press releases ...

seriously, this is crazy man; the only jeep you can get body-color mirrors on is the grand cherokee srt8 ... ya know, for about 2 or 3 times the price of a compass.

My wife and I stopped by our local Jeep dealer Sunday evening when I spotted a Jeep Green Compass.

It was just a base model, but looked really nice. One thing that did surprise me (other than the fact that the dealership left it unlocked over the weekend -- oops!) was how short it was. Jeep lists the height of the Compass as 65.2 inches -- which is right at my eye level. But this Compass' roofline was under my chin!

I guess it might be because it was a base model, but Jeep's Web site makes no height distinction by model. Hmm ....

Otherwise, it was a really nice little car. I'd love to see a Limited.

Sorry, mine didn't come with the fold down speaker option in the liftgate. It did come with the pop-out LED flashlight which we have used and were glad it was there when we needed it.

Still love the CVT. Since it is only a 4-banger there are some times you really need to punch it for passing or hills and it's really nice not having an automatic tranny slam shift two gears down when you floor it. The CVT just purrs and speeds you up with no jerky movements of sudden revs.

There were a few small impressions (not really dents) below the license plate on the tailgate. The dealer provided a paintless dent repair guy to fix it for us. He speculated they were from someone shutting the gate by pressing below the tailgate. There's not much to push to close it though. There is a hand slot on the bottom of the gate that is exposed when the door is open, it's a little awkward to use but it does the trick.

Can you do a compairison pic, and a pic of the radio/dash, and a pic of the liftgate speakers?
Thanks, that would be cool
