I believe the link shown below is the organization's home page, but I was unable to find any reference to the Jeep Patriot when browsing their web pages. Please note however that the website doesn't appear to be up-to-date.

FWIW, the Chevrolet Aveo was tapped as their Car-Of-The-Year in 2006, while Nelson Piquet Jr. was singled out for their Driver-Of-The-Year award.

The only article I could find on this award says the Hyundai Santa Fe won the award for SUV of the year. Of course the link was a Hyundai link so perhaps you can't accept it as gospel.
