Just a fact-finding mission:

If you're not sure, just check the 'roof leak other than sunroof' selection.

My hope is that all owners here will respond so we can get a reasonable cross section of the Patriot population. If the numbers are significant, I will do what I can to get this info to Nardelli's office. I think he would be very interested in the responses (both good and bad) when they number in the thousands.

Plus, I want to help nip this problem in the bud, if it really is a problem.

Mine is dry as a bone...

Thanks for this survey, I think it will be very helpful to see where the problems are and also see the percentage ratio. My lil guy is dry and I keep it outside. We have a one car garage and my wife's Camry has the place of honor, but my Jeep is tough and actually likes it out there!

I agree with Wheezy- same model here and I have the interior shower feature randomly...also coming through the front dome light...gushing on the console...
Extended Warranty doesn't cover it as I have some 43k miles on it in under 2 years...miffed:mad:...
I just called Chrysler today and opened a ticket...hopefully they'll decide in my favor...just another thing broken on the car ...I used to love my Jeep for the first year and then everything went to Hell in a hand basket once I got past 36k...Front Lower Control Arm- Not covered...
My CVT making the car shake when it downshifts...That's still being diagnosed though...the only thing they ever covered was the Microchip that controls the Transmission...

Never ever a newer Jeep!

My rear cargo light leaked. Dealership seems to think they found the issue - something with a plug or cup? The paperwork is at home, and I am far, far away. :) They wound up pulling down my headliner and cleaning it for me, and pulling the water out of the cargo carpet.

My Jeep has spent the last week and a half sitting outside at my loal airport - with a tupperware container strategically placed, just in case. Hopefully they did fix it. :)

I have 2007 patriot 4x4 diesels – European version (I am from Romania), with the larger front bumper. Every time it is raining from my back interior flashlight water is pouring, either the car is in motion or not (I don’t have sunroof). I am very upset because it is getting worse every time.
Can you be so kind and tell me – if you can – what the dealer did to repair it? If it’s only to use some sealing staff, then I’ll do it myself (the service for American cars here is very expensive). During a trip my dog get wet – a terrier who loves to go by car! I only found out this when I arrived home and my dog was soaking wet (he stayed in the back of the car), after about 4 hours of travel through heavy rain.
Best regards,
Sorin

The first use of my sunroof was after a heavy rain. I opened it, put the car in reverse, stepped on the go pedal and was rewarded with a cold shower. I was very concerned having read of similar problems in this forum. I could not find anything wrong with the car and concluded it was standing water on the roof which would not have been a problem had I backed out of the driveway prior to opening the sunroof. This was June '07 and has not happened since so I checked "No leaks" in the poll.

Aftermarket sunroof = no leaks.
Haven't noticed anything else.

Although I park under a carport, only have 2500 miles and we are experiencing a drought.
I do use the laser car wash, and have been dry on the other end of it.

I am very suprised and saddened at the # who are having problems.
This must be the 'flappen hood' of 2008.
Now we just need a youtube video.

Got the Jeep back, here's an excerpt from the sheet that was given to me when I picked it up:
Found bulletin for repairing sunroof drain tubes. Remove headliner assembly and all 4 drain tubes. Repair as per TSB #23-043-06.
Anyhow it says they tested it and it didn't leak so I guess I'll believe that the fix has worked unless I get another cold shower in the middle of winter. ;)

There's a problem with the accuracy of the poll. 3.8% of respondents have had a leak in the sunroof, but we don't know how many respondents have or don't have a sunroof. It would be helpful to know what percentage of sunroofs leak.
