Don't forget, though, that the Limited (which I've got ) only comes with leather seats and although everyone thinks that's swanky, in fact it's a poor option. Hot when it's summer, freezing cold (even though it has seat-heaters), to begin with, in winter. But way, way worse than either of those; you have to take care of leather seats. You can't just chuck any ol' box or piece of wood in the back. It's almost impossible to rip cloth-covered seats, but leather...And don't forget that these days it's much harder to raise the follow-up mortgage that you'll need to get the leather seats repaired or replaced.

Rocal
I Think there are different equipment and option choices in the EU than in the US. For example mine is not a Limited, has cloth seats and the following specs which are otherwise found only in the Limited:

- it`s kind of a mix between a Sport and a Limited, has no badges on the back except the Jeep logo
- 4x4, FD I, 2.4 l, 5 speed, dark blue/gray metallic
- extra underbody and inner panels treatment for heavy duty winter use
- leather steering wheel w/audio controls, Boston Audio, heated seats, fog lights, cruise control, 17“ alloys, alarm with ultrasonic detection, remote door locks, power locks/windows/mirrors, front and side curtain airbags, cargo cover, temporary spare tire, rechargeable flashlight, roof racks.

Just a short update here.
Deadline for the Patriot comes closer. I want to buy the Pat within 1-2 month.
there seems to be only one problem. The lack of leftover 2008 model at least if you search for a black CRD limited. There are still some limiteds for sticker price. For that i could get one of the few new 2009 models wich arrived here lately if i had the money.
I guess the lack of 2009 model is one reason why the price for the 2008 models are still high.
Dealer told me something about spring rebate program for 2008 models but it doesn´t happened yet. I´m still not in a hurry and i don´t worry (yet) but i thought and hoped i have more options to choose from wich isn´t the case yet.

Patriot... period. The answer does follow that logical progression for me too with about the same choice.:Racing:After 10 months of ownership and a harsh winter just behind, it's always a pleasure to ride it. Up to now no problem ( only the ESP activation problem, the computer got flashed and problem resolved)..

The Patriot is a great machine!:wow:

Rends, your dealer's right. I ordered my Patriot in April at a fairly good price but dealer told me I would get the special active the day I take possion of the Pat...not the current month deals so I got th 2250$ rebate from Jeep in june plus deals on equipment.

So yes the time has come. Deadline for buy date of current year models. To order custom made you're at the limit ( mid-april) and on the car lots less and less choice.

Good luck with your final approach.:smiley_thumbs_up:

01-26-2008 <- this was the date when i started this thread!

Nearly 1.5 years later...

If all works well i will get my black Patriot CRD Limited next week.

Will be my first Jeep. What an irony that i will get my Pat the days when it´s might be the last days for Chrysler. But i´m not concerned about Jeep. If not Chrysler than anyone else will buy it. But for the folks working at Chrysler i hope that they will stay in work.

Anyway.
Hey i can´t wait anymore!
this was a very long journey wich comes to an end in a few days. But then Exploration starts...

The little floating Suzuki ad on this site made me do something I'm not proud of: I clicked on the ad and looked at a Suzuki Grand Vitara.

The ad says "true 4x4 capability"
The ad says "64 more hp than a CR-V"

So I looked... compared to the Patriot, I don't think it's even close:

The only way I could see someone buying one over the Pat is if you like that style and/or really don't like the Jeep style.
